Watched a bit last night. He seems to have become a bit of a Sam Mitchell where he doesn't run with the footy a lot, more just links up with handballs and kicks. I can understand what Richo is saying when he says he needs to back his body and take the game on. Just needs to see if it works at least.

Still want him to play this week btw.

I feel he plays a bit like Ablett and Mitchell when they are at their stat padding best. Only problem is that whilst his skills and decision making are serviceable they aren't elite.

His unique skill was his explosiveness, I feel like he has lost that. Having said that, good on him and good luck to him to make it when he gets his chance.

For what it's worth, Richo didn't have a tackle.

I didn't have a tackle.

Neither Kurt Cobain or my grandmother had a tackle.

Tackles are not the be-all and end-all.

If they were then we'd be recruiting from the WWF and not the TAC Cup.

Tackles, while desirable, are not essential.

Tackles don't define the man.

Ask Bruce Jenner; he chopped his off!

Don't give us your logical arguments about the coaches knowing best, a lack of explosive pace or defensive game.

We're footy fans and we're past all that crap. We've stuck fat and now we want a little something back.

To be honest, this is one of the most difficult seasons I have experienced in my 46 years as a St Kilda member. Yes the 80s were bad but at least it was entertaining. We had some superstars and some larger than life players. Even some larrikins. It was exciting even if in a losing way. But now we have players being turned into robots while at the same time sucking at winning games. And at times it's hard to watch and hard to keep supporting. I want wins or entertainment; actually want both but will settle for at least one.

Freeman won't change all that but will give many a reason to journey to the Dome. To share the enjoyment of a young man finally getting reward for years of hard work and for overcoming years of doubt.

So come on Richo

Don't you guys realise how hard it is to break into a losing bottom 4 team with a midfield who have trouble kicking over a bottle top into a dysfunctional forward line? Freeman may get a chance if he gets 120 disposals in one game, but he would still have to work on part of his game before Richo is convinced.

It is but presumably you’d think there is genuine merit to it if he’s going on TV and saying it and after his performance in the weekend as well as over a months worth of footy under his belt you’d have to think this is it...

I know, and I want him to debut, but two other media personalities have have called his debut and been wrong. Just staying pessimistic so that I'm not disappointed.

Yep that was Last Saturday watched him lay 2 other tackles as well
