Forget the cursed jumper, which player is going to want to be the BF sponsored player from now on? Nathan Wright, who is on pretty shaky ground and now Freeze
boydie I think we’d better rethink next season!

As Look2Me4Guidance said the BigFooty Saints Player Sponsor program has always been a curse.
Due to lucklaster share purchases this year I think we will be giving next year a miss anyways unless there is a dramatic increase in interest if we sign a spud like geary, mav or newness, I might just buy the whole lot of shares if its one of them 3!

It’s a shame, you’ve done a great job and it is helpful to the club. I hope you understand I was just being facetious. :straining:

That’s a great idea. It’s our way to influence list management. Maybe we sponsor Richo?!

Yes mate all good!
PS don't think I do THAT good of a job seen as we cant pick a player that succeeds :(

That's the greatest idea Ive heard for sometime, I'll take 300 shares please!

Not really.

High profile recruit. The club wanted us to take the journey with him and we did. We all wanted him to overcome the incredible odds he was facing.

With the club's encouragement we learned of the extreme lengths he had gone to in an effort to make it, such as flying to Germany to undergo radical treatment at his own expense.

We hoped and we hoped he would be selected. Our expectations grew with each Sandy game that he managed to play.

And finally he was in. A promising debut and the next week a first goal that saw teammates and supporters unbelievably excited in what was a totally shitful and depressing season.

We hoped that maybe this would form the basis of a strong pre-season where maybe, just maybe, he would start to gain in confidence and start to get a bit of his speed back.

Instead what do we get? Delisted.

But not just delisted. Delisted as first cab off rank. Delisted all by himself on day 1 of delistings. Nothing from the club just "he's delisted". Explanation? Don't worry about that.

Whether the decision is right or wrong, anyone with half a brain could see decision would lead to an enormous outpouring of emotion from frustrated fans. But we get nothing except "...more to follow". WTF?

With respect, the only similarity between Freezer and Tom Ledger is the fact that as of now neither is a St Kilda player.
Jeez have you forgotten Ray Connellan already?

Freeza's Twitter "melt" says it all!

And the BF curse strikes again!

Especially so with Wright expected to be let go also, well done team, whose career should we kill this time?
I vote we sponsor Donald Trump next. We would be doing the world a favor.

Keep it going mate. We need all the help we can get to get back on track, now is not the time to leave.
Remember boys, coaches, players, presidents, ceo's all come and go - we stay Loyal until the day we die. We're the one thing that never changes.

Do they send out any extra info to sponsors or anything like that??? I know we get a few invites to things, but would be nice if the club could maybe give some extra info to sponsors that maybe others don't see??

I agree mate, and I will try and get it going again for 2019 but the lack of numbers this year meant I had to put in a bit of extra cashola myself to make up for the tickets sold, and not sure I can do that again myself.

As always I will put up a post asking for pledges again, I will prob send a little earlier to try and get numbers. But need to sell all the shares before I will give go ahead to the club.

Unfortunately, the sponsorship does not provide for extra info from the club etc, the sponsorship entitles us to the events, a memorabilia piece and our name up on the saints website

Totally agree, you shouldn't have to shoulder the extras.
If we pledge it needs to be a commitment.

Sorry my last post should of read shares unsold. Everyone who pledged put their cashola in, we just didn't get enough pledges!

as i mentioned before if what im hearing is correct we can expect melts galore in the next couple of months .. this is the first one ...
look im sad for the kid .. he is a quallity person and his fight to get even one game should be admired but the realistic veiw is he has 2 games in 3 years , his injurys have robbed him of the thing we need the most from him his break away speed without that he is just a carbon copy of Ross Dunstan armo ... its cut throat but everyone on here three weeks ago were wanting us to be cut throat they were wanting us to recriut for ability not cause the player is a nice guy ..

strap yourselves in peeps its about to get real bumpy

Fine; just so long as the club doesn't then replace these guys will old, worn out or crippled blokes.

Cos if they do that we may as well cut our throats [emoji51]

Only reason I think we sound have kept him is that we are desperate for a good news story. Our club is on it's knees and we just don't need the back lash from this right now.

On the other hand I do think he would have just become what we call a list clogger, but I can see the value in keeping him there another year as a bit of motivation.

Can’t be that bad we don’t have that much that will be that devastating . If someone goes it should be for something decent in return . Time to seperate the feed from the chaf

the constant message im hearing across my sources is the focus is improving from the bottom up .. ive heard anyone on our list is "available" provided the offer nets us a player that is an improvment skill wise on the player we let go ... i have heard that the big highlighted and in BOLD message from the review has been our skill level not being up to AFL standard .. we work hard , we dig in and theres no question on the effort but we simply undo the hard work with shoddy skills ...
Freezer i feel will be replaced with a player with the speed we hoped he would bring...
the baseline skill level has been seen as a big issue .. one person i spoke to put it as "if you got a team who cant hit a target then it doesnt matter how you coach, the team is going to struggle"
i also think the assistants the club are getting is going to mirror this elevation of skills mantra

If that is the case, then geary should be the first butcher goneski, blokes causes more turnovers by his disposal than all the other captains in the AFL combined I reckon.
If that is our word, he must be one of the top otherwise words are just words

Sorry angry about it because the issue is conflicted particularly this year.

So the logic about being bold is

Playing one of our worst kicks in the team behind the ball continually as the loose man who happens to
be the captain of the team , not once , not twice but the majority of the year.

The logic of playing Weller continually when his form was poor, excuse was oh he is playing injured ,
we have lots of players who aren’t injured , but we need to play him .

The logic of playing our number 1 ruck , who was clearly underdone recovering from hip issue , yet
we play him when we have not 1 , not 2 , but 3 other ruckman who were all fit .

Could go on on about it these issues , are just a few of the conflicted messaging of coaches , fitness
guys at the club , sorry but the message “trust us we know what we’re doing “ doesn’t wash .

or maybe the question is more on "why is Geary being given the ball to exit out of defence ?" we will never eradicate the poor kicks every team has at least 1 or two players who add value in other areas but are not your first choice to dispose of the ball .. our issue is we are 180degrees round the wrong way we have 1 or two good users and the rest poor kicks .. i think the guys that are in most trouble are the guys who dont have another trait that is an asset to the team ..

never said trust them they know what they are doing .... like most coaches Richo has his favorites the guys he puts a higher level of trust in to perform a role for him ... this is his main flaw as a coach his consistant trust in guys that dont deliver on what we need .. i know for a fact this issue is exactly the reason for frustration in some of the assistant coaches .. but as a strong assistant they should be able to influence the coach to not "play favourites " i think the new guys coming in will push that envelope and drive the standards higher.. for lack of a better term the new assistants will help Richo become less Richo ...
