Freeman is the bolter of this year's draft having quietly crept up on a few of his contemporaries and he has done it through being dynamic. The strong-bodied midfielder finished the year well with the Sandringham Dragons, is a reliable kick, and loves to win the ball at stoppages and then burst from them.

He is the quickest player at the top end. He can win his own disposals, tuck the ball under an arm and burst away, and then boot the ball long. He loves to run forward and kick goals, too. Showed his running prowess at the combine when he was ranked quickest for the repeat sprints (23.62 seconds), second for the 20-metre sprint (2.82 seconds) and 10th for the beep test (level 14.10).

WEAKNESSES
He can lack a tiny bit of composure sometimes with his kicking, mostly because he is running so quickly. His kicking efficiency for the Dragons was 60.2 per cent, with most of the other top midfielders a touch higher. He still is a little inconsistent, and his good games for the Dragons were often followed with quieter ones, but that gap is closing.

I like the choice, he's a brawler, a player who wills himself on the game, not unlike a Swan or a Dangerfield.

Was the right choice once Salem and Aish went before 10.

Because that can be improved, as opposed to s**t skills or speed?

So he'd fit in easily.

Is he the long term replacement for Swan in terms of that raw speed in the middle?

I'm happy as once Swan is gone or permanently forward we will be quite one paced

I know we say this all the time but....I dont really remember a hell of a lot of players with suspect disposal who have actually got much better. History suggests, it doesnt work that way. Wysiwyg by now.

Course, if we actually employed a specialist skills coach for once...

Sounds very very similar to dangerfield
