I have a feeling this one is going to haunt us in years to come. I hope I am wrong, but always had a feeling Freeman would be a gun player. Just looks the goods.
2nd Here. I been a Fan of Freeman since we Drafted him and Felt he added something Different to our Midfield.

But his Hammy Killed his Collingwood Career and Left for $$$$$

The disappointment at losing a highly rated youngster for no output is tempered by the sneaking suspicion that we had more than a little responsibility for that same lack of output.

Freeman is a required player for mine unless we can land Aish.

Even then I'd prefer to have both.

Club will end up giving away a top 10 pick for a second round selection, a player who's true worth is yet to even be uncovered.

Odds are he'll finally get over his hamstring troubles next year.

Kid's done nothing wrong. Has had a bad run and Saints have taken advantage by offering to pay him over the odds. No need for all the bile directed at him.

It's a high-risk, high-reward strategy by Saints, but they probably have to try something outside the ordinary as they don't have players falling all over themselves to get there. So they offer the kid what he would be worth if he played maybe 20 games in his first couple of years and showed plenty of upside.

Freeman was a standout of our 2015 pre-season as far as i remember so I won't be surprised if it pays off for them.

Alan Richardson is a shrewd operator. In his time at the Pies as development coach, he was fantastic.

will watch with interest

I see it being played out like this.

Pies to saints. Freeman and 2nd rnd pick
Saints to pies 1st round pick
Pies forward that pick to bris for Aish.
Pies 1st round pick and next year 2nd round pick to GWS
GWS Trloar to pies.

I personally think that is fair and reasonable for all teams

very very disappointing outcome. guess this one didnt show 'flight' tendencies during the interview process.

more opportunities? that reaks of not having the ticker to fight for a spot.

his young magpie cousin will be shattered.

How can you demand a trade for more senior opportunities when you haven't had any senior opportunities because you haven't been able to get on the park? What an absolute bellend

It's not because of the opportunities he's missed rather about the lack of probable opportunities in a Collingwood midfield that may also include Treloar and Aish. He'd have a far better chance of regular playing time in the current St Kilda midfield and with that a greater bargaining power with contract negotiations.
