He isn't a poor kick this is getting a bit ridiculous. He just isnt an elite kick middle ground people middle ground.

Hopefully it's just one of those Chinese Whispers that get a bit of a life of their own. Either way, there are plenty of very good midfielders whose disposal isn't elite. Can't remember who pointed this out, but it's striking how commentators often refer to Chris Judd 'kicking to space'. Top euphemism.

Yeah Judd has never been a great kick but its good enough and he is still a great of the modern game.

Sounding like he'll be a perfect fit for the side with his pace. Just going off his highlights his kicking looks fine, and reading comments from others it doesn't seem to be bad, so I'm wondering if people are getting worried over nothing. I bet most of us have never seen him play m/any full games, so I'll leave judgement until I do.

Could be a Great Sub with His Explosive Pace but Unlike Daisy, Freeman has good Endurance Already so can run games out better:thumbsu:

I had a glance at some stats for Shuey and Dangerfield as I'm interested in what sort of player Freeman could be moulded into as a similar type. Shuey averages 22 disposals and .6 goals and almost 5 tackles per game. Dangerfield av 21 disposals , around 3 tackles and 1.6 goals per game.

Freeman could be an elite first receiver and line breaking midfielder but to round out his game will need to try and regularly find the goals and aim for a healthy tackle count. Possibly the defensive element of the game could be one area we begin to develop. The other thing not clear in the stats I read was contested possession and inside 50s both of which I imagine these two players would be pretty good on.

Unbelievable...some people use a thread entitled "Welcome to Collingwood....." to criticize /question their selection. There are surely other forums for that. Sincerely hope the draftees and their families aren't looking through these threads.
Welcome to Collingwood...Side by Side...Oh yeah

Wrapt to have drafted this kid. Addressed a need... The need for speed.
Can see him becoming really handy around stoppages.

Can't wait to see him burst out of the guts and drill goals from 50m haven't had a player capable of doing that regularly since Buckley, Swan is capable but doesn't do it often from centre bounces.

The added benefit of a player that constantly threatens to do this is it tends to make the opposition backmen more hesitant from following our leading forwards as they would be nervous about protecting the goal face :thumbsu:

He'll also likely attract either a tagger or game plan against him if he steps up which allows other players to run free too. Either way, he causes an extra problem for opposition sides.

Just watching the intro vid on the official website, anyone else picking up on how much Bucks likes Freeman's attitude? Seems quite amused by his confidence, it's funny to watch him grinning while Freeman talks to him.
