I think his disposal is mid-range in terms of draftees, made to look slightly worse due to the fact he is often running at 100kms an hour which reduces decision making time and ability to kick accurately.

I don't think it will be an issue long term, not every player has to have elite disposal.

With broomheady ramsay fasolo kennedy and scharenberg we have plenty of young elite ball users

Thanks for the info!!!

I suppose its a trade off in some sense. As you said, the blistering pace is there, i think thats something we need right now with mid range disposal. Rather than a plodder and elite disposal.

Liking that list you have just reeled off

I was pretty dissapointed with Kennedy's disposal, only Fas has shown it at the top level from your list, but I'm hoping.

Elliot is still a kid learning the ropes though practically speaking. He'll be more than fine over the years, I'm sure the Pies internally rate this guy VERY highly.

Look who I have as my AV I'm a big fan of the young man's but he is not the same type forward Davis was or the type we need to mix up what we already have.

Kennedy Disposal was Hot and Cold last season.

Had some really good ones along with some bad ones.

Hope more Experience will fix that

Im just not a big rap on Kennedy yet. I think im about the only one who hasn't seen this potential on this board haha.

I must admit hes one player ive hardly seen however, I don't watch too many VFL games and never watched any draft highlights to get a real grab of his skill levels.

nope...I'm underwhelmed as well. Time is on his side of course.

Kennedy I think is rushing it a bit too much.He needs to steady on when he is running to goal.

When it was put to Paul Roos that Salem would play lots of games next year, he said "I don't want to put a ceiling on any recruit, but I you ask me right now I would say 'probably not.'" The Swans have followed many of Roos' philosophies, and they haven't gone too bad, have they?

Maybe we should all give the kids one season where they play in the twos unless their form absolutely demands it. Let's allow Ben Kennedy one season to settle in before we start demanding perfection.

Very well said.

He's a kid. The likes of O'Meara, Wines and Grundy are the exceptions, not the rule. Most kids take significant time to develop into a regular contributor, let alone the best player they can be. Leon Davis was mentioned before in reference to Elliott. Leon was pigeonholed as a forward pocket for year after year, but with maturity and opportunity he became a tremendous weapon out of the backline.

Another example is Ben Reid. He looked like a possible flop as a forward taken at pick 8. His goal kicking was a nightmare of jangling nerves and stuttering, silly walks. Now he is an AA backman with one of the best field kicks at the club, and is clearly our best second forward. We will be moving heaven and earth to re-sign him this year.

I'm reasonably happy with what I've seen from Kennedy so far - he's a dasher and likes to take the game on. The assessment of his kicking at junior level was that it was very good, and that doesn't just disappear. Therefore it's clearly a mental thing. I would be happy if he spent a fair bit of time in the gym and in the Magoos, building up his frame to compensate for the lack of height, and scrubbing away at the flaws in his game.

You can't beat time and hard work.

I think Kennedy's disposal will be fine with experience. Got caught out trying to be too cute at senior level by trying to execute the sort of disposals that worked at lower standard games (U18, SANFL) but he'll learn that elite oposition won't allow that luxury.

Really Getting Excited about this Kid.

Seems to be Training Really Well.

Has Great Speed and Good Sidestep(Bit Like Pendles).

Reckon him and Adams could be very exciting as the Future On-Ball Brigade

Will Tom Langdon be getting many games in 2014 and roughly how many? Hope someone can help out. More to help with SuperCoach but saw SCPaige and thought it could go here. Cheers, thanks

I don't think he will be getting many games.

He'll be fighting a spot with Frost, Oxley, Goldsack, Scharenberg and even Maxwell at this point

Thanks mate, might have to change structure.

Just seemed a little more out of nowhere than even the usual crap on this board :p
I like to keep everyone on their toes! :D

I still think Ryan Lonie is one of the softest players we've had on our list!
