Toast Nathan Jones - 100 games

Nuggety and tradesman like with a mixture of flashes of brilliance and over use of the footy at times but always bleeds red and blue and always has a go.

For a 23 yr old to rack up 100 games during a very difficult period in the history of the club as we have rebuilt over the last 4 years is fantastic. He's ridden every bump and never dropped his head throughout.

Well done Jonesy on your 100th game next week against St. Kilda!

It was a poor ball but only evened up the stunner of a pass to Bartram that set up a goal for us.

Credit where credit's due, he wasn't our worst today.

I love the way Jones plays. He really bleeds for this club and to play 100 games is a great achievement. I remember when he was first drafted, I was pumped at the thought of he and Pickett going at it. A lot has changed since then (and unfortunately not many finals).

Or did our expectations simply rise after a couple of seasons, and now we judge him a bit more harshly?

That is why I love Jones' work... when he gets it right, it looks amazing.

I wouldn't agree with this. He came to the club stronger than he is now but he was too top-heavy and could not run out most games. He has a much more streamlined body now but he still has the body of an in and under player. It is therefore surprising that he almost solely plays on the wing.

Do do judge him more harsly now but I have seen genuine improvement. He doesn't give away as many hospital handpasses and has improved his kicking immensely. I wish he would get more tackles though.

His first quarter was very good as was his game last week but nothing can make up for that kick.

In our 3 bad losses we have had 3 horrible errors that blew us out of the water.

Jetta's dropped mark against the Hawks, Sylvia tripping over in the middle of the ground against the Eagles and now Jones's pass over Davey's head.

We simply can't afford those terrible errors especially when you throw in the towel as early as we do.

I don't think we expect enough from our players, we should be expecting more from Jones, he is a leader but he often let's himself and the team down with his ordinary disposal.
