You really are out of your league here. More and more you sound like a high school bopper.jack did it said:so u'd rather butler would you???
thats just stupid saying that, waters is going to be a midfielder not glen archer u really have little idea what your talking about half the time but you make out that you do.
if you wanted butler apparently we were offered him, but we didnt make a offer, (we took thompson that champion instead), so now butlers ********ed and nevers going to become a crow
and simon black thats going a bit far........

I can guarantee you that I have seen more fo Beau Water than you have. Even at the underage level.
Beau Waters has a fair way to go before he gets to play in the midfield. Yes he is tough, yes he is a bruiser and one of the reasons I rate the kid highly but you also need skillfull players.
The story that Butler was offered to us cannot be further from teh truth. He was NEVER offered to us. If he was we would have jumped at the opportunity. We wanted Butler, we wanted Waters and we pushed as hard as we could. For over a month we have been pushing for these 2 and there was no way in hell that WC were going to trade them.
Actually the similarity in styles I made are very similar. Beau Waters plays more like Glenn Archer. Sam Butler has a similar style to Simon Black. I never said he will be as good as Black, but his clean hands in traffic and his ball winning ability in close is very comparable to Simon Black at the same age
I would back my knowledge over yours any day of the week and twice on sundays especially when it somes to underage footy and rating of the youngsters.

I never said that I am an expert but compared to you its not hard to be onejack did it said:well, i long i'm past my highschool days, and i have seen no junior football whatsoever, maybe one game once and that was just seeing a friend, but if the crows had taken butler and a pick for stenglein i would have been pis$ed, if they had taken waters instead i wouldnt have minded. and you havent seen simon black at junior level unless you've umpired in wa, so you cant compare them at all. and are you on the inside of the crows recruiting staff??? no, so you have no idea what was put on the table. anyway with the position that wcoast were in with stenglien, he had already signed a 3 yr deal apparently, they were practically obligated to do a deal, so if we pushed hard enough, or atleast let it drag out a little later in trade week, you never know what might happen. its like the kangaroos deal with carey ofcourse we didnt 'offer' pick 4, they say if you want this player, then this is what you have to do.
and i doubt wcoast would have wasted pick 11 on a player like waters, if they thought he was going to play a half back flank or back pocket. he already rotates through the midfield now anyway.
and dont make out your some expert, you have as much idea as me, before the draft, you where making all these 'certain' predictions but your like me, we really have little idea whatsgoing. i think half the time recruiting staff arent sure which way to go until the last minute

Yes I am 100% certain that Butler was never on the table and WC were never going to budge. You say that Stenglein signed a 3 year deal with the WC before trade week and that is the biggest load of crap. WC and Stenglein would be tempting with the draft and would face hefty penalties if that was the case. What Stenglein did was sing an agreement to join WC under those terms pending on ammicable trade. There is a BIG difference.
See even though I was not there I do know for certain that this never took place. Butler was never offered. We tried our hardest to get him but WC were NEVER going to give him up. He was still contracted and there was nothing we could do about it.jack did it said:sure they cant offically breach the rules, but i'm sure they would have taken him aside and said look we'll do everything we can........ and if you push and hold out long enough feel we could have easily got butler (although he's is hardly adequate for stenglein) and you dont know 100%, you werent there.
if this is the case what do you make of that westcoast dude saying that butler was put up on late thursday or something, but we werent interested because we needed the first rounder to get thompson. he said that butler is pis$ed off now at the crows. he sounded fairly genuine, and i hardly think hes going to make a story up like that, so i believe something along those lines occurred. the crows always miss out on opportunities like that anyway

jack did it said:i hope story isnt true about butler being pis$ed with the crows, apparently him and waters are mates so whoever gets one, i think will get the other. butler wants to come home thats the word. we'll get him this year!!!!!!!!
Actually I think Carr was worth more. We got picks 12 and 28 for Stenglein and Port got picks 11, 27 and 43 for Carrjack did it said:well you cant know 100% unless your there, i am sure we could have got him you just put the squeeze on them. it works for port (no way carr was worth all 3 picks IMO)

Not saying that they will be as good as those 2 but I was referring to the style that they play. Waters plays a similar style to Glenn Archer while Butler has some similarities to Simon Black.Crow-mosone said:simon black and glenn archer is going a bit far here.
Crowked said:Butler & Waters arent conjoined twins mate, they will go individually. They have probably become friends in the 12 months they have been together at WC but before that one was at Westies the other at Centrals, hardy inseperable. Personaly I think Waters is our man, I'm not too bothered about Butler, hes not an outstanding talent IMO, just a pretty good average player. Waters and Cooney are the exceptional talents the Crows should be targeting. However as was the case this year, some players are out of reach and unless they make the decision to abandon their current club and come home, we have very little chance of getting them with out paying above the odds for them.
jack did it said:i think this year was a good opportunity to have a go at butler or waters, wont get an opportunity like that again

mymansyd said:Mate, I know what Jacko was saying, but I was just asking "Says Who?" in response to his comment: won't get an opportunity like that again.
IMO, we've got no less chance of trading for Butler or Waters in the future than we had this year.

jack did it said:why have we no less chance this year??? this year we had someone wcoast wanted, we were in the position to say if you want him then this is what you have to pay. stenglein was apparently going to stay if the deal fell through. and the fact that butler or waters werent on 'the table' is crap, butler was on offer, from what other ppl said.
i bet we will pay with atleast a first and second rounder to get waters this year if we get him at all. we will be competing against port, and as we have nothing that wcoast want we have no preference in the deal. wouldnt be suprised if port got him, they can afford a first rounder with the young talent they have. we cant afford to lose anymore high picks
theorangeapple said:one thing that may not work in your favour is if u finish 13-14th and have pick 4-5. u wont give that up for waters, so port's pick around 15 looks much more likely unless you can source another first rounder.

theorangeapple said:i hope u dont think that butler was on the table from what i said. to be honest i wouldnt believe that. also, rucci was just s*** stirring with those articles saying it would be either waters + 2nd rounder or butler and something. he had no idea.
