Glad to hear Vardy is back, would love to see him play a vfl game or two before year's end.

Poor Cowan's had an awful year, so hopefully the surgery fixes the problem and he can do a full pre season to show what he can do.

Yeah great news - and even better if he can get 2-3 VFL games under his belt this season.

Wow got some talls coming along - Vardy, Bathie, Brown, Walker, Simpson, West, Gillies and Kersten. I reckon of the 8 players mentioned 5 will make it at least !

Taylor, Lonergan and Hawkins are around for another 4 years + IMO.

3 + 5 = 8 good talls. With one or two of them as back up. Plenty. You can have 6-8 tall players in a team depending on their agility.

That really should be enough for the next season or two. We need to get a gun mid at the next ND. Just another Selwood please Mr. Wells !

Wow nothing! half those guys won't make it through injury or talent or are new arrivals???
Fact I'd be trading Simpson and probably Gillies if there's another option out there.

But I'd be taking Jake Stringer and Jordan Bourke that's for sure, anyhow we found another mid, names Jackson Sherringham, the guys' a beauty.

SO thats Simpson and Motlop you want to trade, who else? Menzel?

Half wont make it still leaves that will leave 4 that do make it. We still have 3 in Lonergan, Taylor and Hawkins. Still not bad considering we have won flags with less than 7 talls.

Gillies might go but not Simpson IMO.

My bet is Vardy, Brown, Kersten, Walker and Simpson will make it at some stage over the next 2-3 seasons.

That's 5 talls plus our existing 3. Plenty for us. Hey but if Jordan walks in as our second pick - great.

First pick - Boak or mid (Caddy) or similar.

!

Potentially yes. Being a little conservative though only West is an established senior player now. Not saying they won't make it, but they've still got to do it. The next couple of years are going to be very interesting.

No Hamling? My prediction is - put it up on the whiteboard now - with a full VFL season next year & 2-preseasons, this kid will be an absolute fully loaded gun in 2014. Now 194cm & a little more to go. 80kg heading for 90.

Watch him.

Hamling will take time, he'll be measured on the Mitch Brown clock.

Interesting as to where the match committee see him best suited position-wise.

By the time he is ready to play seniors he could be eyeing Harry's spot.

Did not put Hamling on the list as he is more than a season away from playing AFL I reckon.

History says, with the exception to the rule, that our first draft picks turn out well.

Mackie, Menzel, Bartel, Selwood and Varcoe to name a few.

So I expect Hamling will likely make it on the back of a Wells first draft pick - and I would say the same for Smedts right now. Already looking quite good a 15 game player.

How dare you CC - to be the first to start writing about Harry's decline !!!!!

This is not on.

The Mods, if they had a sentimental bone in their body, whould remove this offending post immediately.

Blasphamy. Just Blasphamy.

That's also my prediction, I'm convinced that this kid is going to be worth the wait, heard someone comment last week that he'd put on 7 kilos from his original 78 kilo start.

As I've previously said I've got nothing against recruiting a strong bodied mid, coze I think we miss the power in close that was the trademark of Ling and Rooke.
But when people start on this short is fast crap it annoys me, as we know Murdoch was the drafts quickest and he's 190cm. It's more about agility in traffic which everyone interprets as pure speed and is not.

I'd like us to recruit Jake Stringer and Bourke because I know most of our talls are untried at AFL level and that's the cold hard truth!! And some just won't be good enough (Gillies and Simpson)

Seriously and not just pumping up the smalls that we have, Sherringham could end up the find of the year.

I read that he didn't take his footy that seriously before being traded. He didn't work on his frame in the gym or monitor what he ate. He was drafted based purely on his natural talent.

Now that he's in a structured environment just imagine how good he could be!
