Of all the Eagles players I was most happy for Vardy.
A fitting reward for persistence , few players have had to endure the seven year horror run of injuries that Vardy had at Geelong.
I remember watching this tall rugged kid running around for the Gippsland Power and though he was a pretty special player.
The hip injury that he sustained was one that threatened his future in football.
Every Premiership team has a couple of great stories in it and Vardy is one of those great tales.
Well done "Jar Head" and so glad West Coast were able to offer you a second chance and a fresh start.

Two clutch contested marks in the last quarter, big time goal and made Tom Langdon accountable for a taller opponent after getting a relatively good run to provide drive from the back half in the first 3 quarters.
Has had a huge impact at the end of the year when it mattered most.

I was really expecting for Lycett to step up when Nic went down. But if anything he has gone backwards and Vardy has had a far better backend of the season. Both combine well to shut down Gawn and Grundy, but Vardy has also been more damaging himself.

So stoked for Vards. I think he’s been underrated by many on here for the work he’s done for us since he’s come over. Yesterday he took some absolutely crucial marks when we were trying to get out of defence, not to mention he helped shut down the top two AA rucks in the last two weeks. Fantastic stuff.

Let's not get carried away now. Played 10 games this year and 7 in the WAFL. Still missed the start of the year through injury. Rapt that he's been able to put together 32 games for us in two years.
