How can you "get the most" out of anybody who plays 25 games over 7 seasons??
You could start by not playing Kersten ahead of him. Oh but that's right, Kersten kept Gibson to 20 odd possessions so it was a win! Please...

Yeah Hamling, Caddy, and Vardy are kind of going against the “career best footy under Scott” bullshit storyline in a big way.
3 players you were so desperate to keep at Geelong yourself, big P?

yep remember somewhat Vardy could not break into the team
like to know who kept him out

I posted my unhappiness about him leaving, only to be replied on BF that Vardy was a waste

maybe WC picked Vardy as insurance for NicNat, and got him cheap
Well done Vardy, he wanted to be traded for opportunities and he got it.

Apart from recruiting Ottens our rucks have been terrible for years.

Too short to be a ruck, not a great KF;
Hawkins, Pods, Stanley, Blicavs...?

As would Nic Nat at WCE; then this thread would not exist. Opportunities.
Eagles have plenty of tall timber.
Can cover his loss.
Really respect the way they play.

They are our premiers, respect-worthy.
Pies were gallant. Not sure how they fare next year. Absolutely gutted for Buckley. Again so close yet no ultimate success, and so tough to get back in that place of contention.

Yeah i rate Buckley.
Always have.
Felt for him today as well.

In fairness, he played almost the whole of his last season in Geelong - just in the VFL and not particularly well...
If you read what he had to say about his (non)relationship with the coaching staff here, its understandable. His papers were stamped that last season and he played like he knew it.

Says a lot for the Cats medical team....will McCarthy be next?

Hardly. That hip injury was just about career ending and kept him out for nearly 2 years, then an acl. Hard to see how that is the medical teams fault.

In Vardy last year as a cat  he was playing VFL and not that well from memory.
He has taken his second chance .

Instead of working harder to try to break back into the team, he sulked, made the call half way through the year to leave and spent the rest of the year in the vfl doing as little as possible. His form was putrid. Great attitude.

Who, Vardy? You're kidding me aren't you?
Not at all. He's done a job in the absence of NicNat, but just does not win enough footy. Yesterday was only the third game this year where he won more than ten touches, and he's undersized in the ruck, too.

Even if your papers are stamped there's still pride in your own performance. I mean House was outperforming him every week that year which doesn't say much about Vardy's application.

Yeah soz, I was referring to the GF only. I thought that he played really well yesterday.

Probably knew he was going and didnt want to get injured or make it hard to get the deal done.

Once someone has multiple injury setbacks you cant expect them to go all out, they lose faith in their body and just want to get some continuity.

I'm fine with the club moving Vardy on but they do bring players back from injury far too early in general, especially injury prone players.
