Here we go again, complete and utter BS!

If for some reason your "rumour" is true then I will be very surprised and disappointed in the GFC. He isnt needed to come in, we have:

Ottens
Playfair
S.Johnson
Kingsley
Thurley
Haynes
Lonergan

All those are ahead of him with the last 3 all likely to get a recall before Nathan gets a call up!

Stop this crap!
Playfair is the only CHF amongst them.....what happens if they want to use him in the ruck? I doubt he will play but.

Be almost worth sacrificing the spot just to work up the whole team and Geelong crowd at the game. Imagine the roar as he hops off the interchange bench for his first run.

But the majority here are right, his VFL form doesnt warrant selection. Then again, it hasnt been used as a pre requisite for so many others this season, why should Nathan be any different.

Put him on Riewoldt :D

.......and kill his career before it starts.
I think ther is more to the gossip that jack started the other day than of NA playing any time this year. He still is struggling to know what the Footy looks like with a sponsors logo on it in the VFL. He would not get a touch.

Being a young and developing key forward he would only have to get 2 kicks for it to be an encouraging performance.

Actually for Jack this is very good, consistent and hanging it on us and himself a bit.

If this kid plays can someone please yell over the fence for me to him or his brother that their dad still owes me and my husband Carl some money.

I will look on it as a personal favor.

You don't happen to own a pub or restaurant somewhere, do you - or did you?

Besides, what their dad did and does has nothing to do with them.

Big Friday night game on channel 9, and Geelong under the pump. There is no chance he will play.

His form doesnt warrant a game. His season will start next year. He hasnt delevoped yet but after another pre-season he should be at the same level as a first year player. Playing him this year will just make it harder for him.
brother mad debut on a friday night match vs essendon if i recall correctly

The reason they may play him before Spencer would be to do with the nature of the St Kilda forward line. The only tall forward they have is Kozzy and Egan will just have to take him if H is to stay forward. Fraser, St Nick and Hamill are all power forwards. Scarlett will get one but Nathan is more suited to the others because I think Spencer is more suited to the taller Ruck/Forwards like a Kozzy, Ottens or Longmuir.. If they had 2 Ruck/Forwards then Spencer would get the job..

My theory on Nathan is that he is eithor;
1) Not good enough.
2) Has been plagued by a knee injury on and off all year.
3) As part of his pure development year he has been heaving the weights all year when all others would have reduced their weight programs by now. This would leave him going into games a little fatigued and looking a bit sluggish. Particularly if he is doing loads of squats. He would be building strength and power for the future but short term he would be feeling sluggish and heavy in the legs.
4) A long season has worn him out and he is not physically capable of much until he gets some rest and then another preseason into him.

I reckon and am hoping reason 3 is the most likely although there has been a knee injury at times and we don't know the severity or impact of this. I didn't see him in the preseason but all reports said he was showing a bit of spring and power which leads me to think he might now be sluggish from an intensive weights program. I dont think 4 is the issue because he didn't show much power in the first half of the season or really at anytime since the knee injury just before round 1.

Anyway if 3 was the reason he has looked sluggish and they rested him up for a week he would step out with a bit more spring in his step and be a viable alternative and could show more than he has in the 2s. I couldn't give a nuns nasty about his name or any of that other stuff about psychological this or that or playin him at Subi or expectations or his own fragilities. I would play him when he is next in line to fulfill a role in the first 22 and be done with it. Injuries have bought that time closer and if thats how it turns out then thats how it turns out..

P.S. Still don't think he will play but it is conceivable in the circumstances.

I think hes had a knee injury since pre season, wouldnt be surprised if he had surgery at seasons end.
