Anyone have info on the TV coverage?

Hopefully we can press red button to hear all the selections. I hate it how they are interviewing the top 10 picks etc whilst the draft is going on. It is bloody ridiculous. You have all year/after the draft to interview these kids, and they feel awkward talking whilst names are being called out.

West Coast are usually pretty poor at keeping a lid on their draft targets. I'd say Cockatoo is pretty likely. Would love to see him at the Crows though.
Well....we shouldn't have downgraded from 10 to 14 then. We'll be lamenting this decision for years "IF" the player we pick up doesn't become half decent.

Yeah this was annoying. Tough to keep up with the scrolling banner of draft picks at the bottom of screen

Why shouldn't there be more transparency in their selections? It would certainly stop all the cliche's and BS that come out of the mouth of every recruiter who says they picked the person they were after.
Because none of that matters to anyone who matters :)

What the recruiters say is not relevant ... it's what they do that matters.

So when they have to say something they say the obvious - the cliche.

Behind closed doors you can bet the discussion is much more real, much more relevant - and that is because that is the only place it matters.

Hell, some our recruiting team might be absolutely spewing that we moved from 10 to 14 - but what good comes from whinging publicly about that?

The decision was made that we should do the swap to get back into the second round, now make the best of it.

My thoughts exactly. I know the top ten is the focus but for me its important to hear a comment about the players as they are picked.

Plus what about how the guy that we did pick would feel to know that he wasn't the player we really wanted. A little demotivating at least initially.

Well you shouldn't expect all of the clubs after pick #1 to come out after their first pick and say "We really wanted Petracca, but this guy will have to do".

I have a feeling that we're going tall and wouldn't have picked Cockatoo anyway.
I certainly haven't heard anything from the club, or from 'sources', or draft experts linking Cockatoo with us in anyway. I have heard that he's happy to come to SA though as Wanganeen is his idol!!

I'd never want to be #1 draft pick because then I'd know I wouldn't be playing for the Crows. But it has me thinking about the sliders potential they have and the reason why they are sliding.TBH they seem to be sliding because draft estimators are perceiving to phantom pick the draft based on needs, apart from the first five or so. If a player was sliding and he was estimated at being a top end pick do you think he would be worried? You slide in the first round and then you come into the calculations of top eight sides. Players must be not overly concerned that they are beginning to fall into that range.

Just an aside, I was just thinking about #1 draft picks and couldn't get past Jonathon Patton. #1 in 2011 and going through his second ACL rehab in three years. Suck a fickle thing. He must be agonising over the helplessness of his situation also while seeing Boyd get his situation sorted. Dumb luck or what.

Red button has been used for a while. Can't see that changing.

Last year was the return of starting at pick 1, instead of counting down from pick 10 and then restarting at 11. Which was ridiculous because they tried to build the suspense on pick 1, when every man and his dog already knew the top 3 or 4 selections.
