I had a dream we took Rioli with pick 10. Make of that what you will haha.

Good.

I'm not alone in dreaming about the draft. :o :D

Also in my dream we took Rioli with pick 10.

Re-drafted Pfeiffer in the RD and took Lachlan Button with a rookie selection. (Who I think is doing something with the Power)

Brad Ebert for obvious reasons. Fits Reid's description perfectly of a player that cna play the midfield, back and forward role. Strong Body, good overhead, great kick, leadership qualities and a local product. Can play inside and outside. Just about ticks every box.
You're describing Pfeiffer. Why go for someone we've just got rid of?

Is Ebert really that good? As in, potential to be an elite player? Wouldn't he be likely to go back to Port at some stage?

Wouldn't he be likely to go back to Port at some stage?

Doubtful. Seems like a good kid.

Not like we'd lose him for a ham sandwich either, as Port won't be anywhere near a No.1 PSD pick.

Can't see him slipping past Essendon myself.

I could possibly see him slipping past Essendon but I can't see him getting past Brisbane. Young Brad is exactly the sort of player Leigh Matthews loves.

This is what I hope happens, and if cards do fall out way, it could well pan out that way :)

Pick 10: Brad Ebert (fingers, toes and everything else crossed :p)
Pick 27: Addam Maric (See Brad Ebert)
Pick 30: Andrew Otten
Pick 38: Mitch Farmer
Pick 59: Kepler Bradley (HIGHLY unlikely) or Marlon Motlop or any other potential crumbing forward with pace.
Pick 75: Walker Texas Ranger.
I'll take that every day of the week. Mind you, I'd be crossing fingers, toes and everything on Farmer at 38. If we want him we'll take him at 30 because I basically see him going between 30-40 and I wouldn't even be totally surprised if he was gone by 30.

I'd pretty much call that our best case scenario.

In fact, Motlop very unlikely to be at 59. Maybe Hockey instead but he probably won't last that long either.

We wouldn't get all of those picks where you have them but if we get a couple I'd be delighted (two Cannons players too!). :D

Addam Maric from all reports is not so much of a crumber but more of a Brad Ebert marking type forward. Would LOVE to get this kid and see what happens.

Andrew Otten is the sort of player we seem to LOVE. A tallish utility type with athleticism, versatility and skills. Can play tall or small and would be a great asset to have in modern game.

Mitch Farmer is the kid we were interested in last year as well. Another year on, and a much weaker draft and I could see us picking him up. He could be a value pick here.

To balance it off in terms of talls and smalls, I would love to get Kepler Bradley with pick 59 but I just can't see Fremantle passing on him with the pick a few spots before ours.

If we could end up with Ebert, Maric, Otten, Farmer, Bradley and Walker out of this draft, I think we would have done very well.

Like it Stiff, like it a lot, the stars and moons would need to align pretty well, but you never know, we did pretty well with the likes of Sellar and Tippet last year.

Not sure if this has been mention on the draft board....Inside Footballs' guide to the 2008 Draft is available from newsagents today. It's always good value for $6.

It has it's own thread on the Draft & Trades Board, Jerome.

The Vics have been able to buy it since Wednesday.

I bought mine today and am looking forward to a good read of it later tonight. :thumbsu:
