ahhhhh finally, my thoughts exactly.

Bannister is a dud. Never understood the way some Essendon supporters rated him.

Hope we pick up a crumbing forward (Chester) in the rookie draft.

Very satisfied with the draft picks we now have.

Bradley at pick 6 is brilliant and seeing Dyson go at 44 is a steal.

Best of wishes to Forster-Knight and Bannister at both Port and Carlton respectively. RFK's hard work ethic and Bannister's versatility got them over the line.

Least don't have to worry about Ricky Mott though..nice work Blues!

How quickly people judge.
A 6ft6 player who can play midfield is a rarety. Was being talked about as top 3 player in draft a couple of weeks ago and now everyone is upset that weve drafted him.

In my book great work by the Essendon recruiting staff.
Got best big man in draft, and 3 of the best midfielders in Dyson, Nash, and Stanton.

Hopefully Bradley can step up to the next level, but winning the best and fairest in the National champs, and playing in a WAFL senior premiership has AFL player written all over it.

I'm really happy with the 4 blokes we got in the draft.

Bradley- A much needed tall- would have loved to get Tenace at 6 but oh well.

Stanton- Talented midfielder, will be handy in years to come

Nash- Another very good midfielder

Dyson- A steal at 44, very talented also

We got exactly what we needed- 3 midfielders and a tall kpp

Good to see a fellow south aussie in Nash join Essendon!
Im reasonably happy with it as a whole. Quality big men are a rarity and I hope Bradley becomes that.

as recent ruckemn smartass? if we wanted a FB why not go pettigrew, ever heard of a guy called sam hunt?

what do recent ruckman count for, which is my point.

Pettigrew sounds to me like a Henneman.

Bradley at CHB I can see potentially. I agree and don't see him as a fullback. The fletch replacement line was thrown in there because he's a similar height, agility, look to Fletch.

Happy with 2..nash and dyson....stanton is davies all over again and bradley..dont get me started.

Nash is quality and so is dyson....so a 5/10 rating for our recruiting staff today.

Agreed Marcuz, but drop that rating to 2/10. Bradley ahead of Tenance and Dunn. Sh*t!!!

But who knows, hopefully it turns out for the best.

Look if.....god its a big if bradley fulfills his potential we have somebody but thats if he stays and doesnt get homesick.

Stanton needs to find more of the footy..but he does use it well and is very quick..sound familiar(james Davies)

Bradley has been compared to a Pavlich type player as well....just needs to bulk up a bit

hopefully..he is nothing like a bolton

Bolton is an athlete, Bradley is a footballer.

Like Marcuz says, apparently there are some queries about his disposal, but that's not a huge issue and can be fixed. I'm just disappointed that we didn't pick up Tenance or Dunn, who would have been more sensible selections, IMO. But Bradley could be gold, and if he fulfils his potential he could become the best player picked in this draft.

Bozza's Draft Summary

Kepler Bradley (#6): What the **** were they thinking taking this bloke over Tenace? **** me! Yes, he could be this, yes he could be that - COULD. He is a massive risk. If he comes off he could be a superstar but he wasn't the right man. I would have thought we would have learnt from our 'projects' with first round picks in the past. Tenace would have been a much safer bet.

Brent Stanton (#13): Interesting one. At one stage people thought him to be just about the most talented bloke of recent times that had played in the Yarra JFL. Very flashy player, silky skills. Will take time, only 17.

Jay Nash (#28): Bargain at this pick. Runs the lines well, I think he is a similar player to Jess Sinclair, yet has a better footy brain. Will play HB/HF before becoming a midfielder in the future.

Ricky Dyson (#44): The cops will be after us for this one. Absolute theft. I would have used 13 or even 6 on him. But most people had him going from 10-25. 44 is a good a bargain as you will ever get for anybody.

The negativity about our draft picks astounds me.

Firstly, they are Essendon players, so support them to the hilt (yes criticise if they do something wrong, but, support them 100%). If you can't do that, you do not deserve to be Essendon supporters.

Secondly, we all know the draft is about taking punts on the future of players, so why slam the club for picking this bloke ahead of another bloke.

Finally, best wishes to the players we have picked up. They need to be made to feel welcome by everyone involved. What I have read in reaction to the draft certainly doesn't illustrate this point.

pazza - I have not launched any attack of a personal nature toward our draftees - I am simply questioning the club's decision to take Kepler Bradley over Kane Tenace. I think it was the wrong decision. The club thought it was the right decision. There is my case. As I said earlier I hope I am wrong.
