Tried to chuck it in tonight and I got the team logo freeze ffs, I just want to relax and play PS3

My fellow PS3 friends. I too was quite annoyed when after trying to have a relaxing 2k session it froze on the team logos with the Jordan intro in the background. However, I have a fix.

You don't have to sign out of PSN to do this.

1. Go to the XMB main menu. Scroll along to the "Game" submenu.
2. Select the "Game Data Utility" option up the very top. Go down to NBA 2k11.
3. Press Triangle for options and then X for "Delete". This will delete the most recent game update, which we now know is corrupted and will cause the game to freeze on startup.
4. Load up the NBA 2k11 disc again (stay signed in on PSN).
5. You will be prompted to download the game update 1.30. Do this.
6. The 78MB update will be downloaded and then subsequently installed.
7. Play, and play online :thumbsu:

All the roster and NBA Today updates seem to work. I quit the game and then loaded it up again, and no freeze at the team logos part. All is good. Enjoy :) :thumbsu:

Does anyone know how to use a 2K share roster online (unranked)? Cheers in advance!

guess it pays off being a guard in this game.

i chose a power forward and hardly see the ball, but still averaging around 6ppg and 6rpg in 6 min quarters.

I'm averaging 20 and 10 with my 6'10 athletic center and consistently get plays run for me both in the post and at the elbow.

Guess it depends on your coaches style and players around you.

im playing for the nets with douche harris running the offence, explains a lot i think.

i think i ****ed up in the early part with the drills, not knowing what i was doing and failing them. plus being an all round power forward has meant that he isnt great in any one skill.

When you're a rookie you've just got to focus on one skill and make sure you become money at that skill before trying to upgrade the rest.

For me, it was 3 point shooting. Driving to the lane is exceptionally hard and requires the upgrading of several attributes. 3 point shooting requires the upgrading of one skill. In time you can catch the other skills up.

Yep I put all of my points towards a 3pt shooter. I'm happy where I am at 79 and am now building other stuff like handling, stealing, etc. I hit 25 treys in a practice game with 55% accuracy.

Btw - don't buy speed points at all. Use Chris Smoove's trick to get speed upgrades (done through drills).

Yeah, I couldnt be bothered doing that though. I thought quickness was a more important attribute. Speed is flawed in this game. On fast breaks big centres can slow your run, which is ridiculous.

I'm just upgrading speed now. Think I'm a 93 atm.

i just do the rebounding and speed drills as they are the easiest to complete and get skill points plus maybe the extra bonus skill point.

and some of these drills are crazy when you're a lumbering pf/c going up against a guard in challenge shot or shooting.

This thread appears to be better than the one in the video game forum. Winning.

I focused on layup/medium range shooting when I started out on my player. Was probably a bad choice. I also wasted a tonne of points changing stats around until I realised I actually lost points doing it hahaha.

My dude is about 85 playing for the lakers, SG. I hate Kobe sometimes. Also, switching to sim mode in My Player is pretty good. Appears to make the players smaller, and a couple of other things, I found it much more fun than default.

Is there a reason why you haven't requested a trade? You'll never start ahead of Kobe (or do you like coming off the bench??)

I'm getting out of the Grizzlies as soon as I play my fifth game. They are treating me like shit  Even though I'm a point guard, when I come on halfway through the first quarter they always stick me at SG with Conley at PG and Mayo at SF. Just sub Conley off ffs.

When they do give me the chance to play PG (usually late in the third) I take advantage. I think I'm averaging about 26 ppg which is nice. The Rockets have shown interest in me which is great, because since they lost T Mac (who could play PG) I'm only behind Dragic and Lowry who shouldn't be too hard to overtake. :thumbsu:

I start with Kobe as PG lol.

My player is like a season or 2 in, so hes by far the best player in the league. (at least in terms of results)

has anyone done a fantasy draft team before?

i made eastern semis with a team of lowry, wade, durant, aldridge and oden with wade and lowry going down injured we lost.

over the off season i acquired battier, villanueva, gortat and paul. battier in a trade and the other 3 as FA's.
also traded oden and lowry for horford as no need for lowry anymore with paul and i have cj watson as a back up anyway. oden is too injury prone.

original squad after draft had:

Wade, Josh Smith, Aldridge, Lowry and i think Gortat who i traded away and now have back.

yeah, i was evenly spreading any skill points i got til i started reading this thread. now just working up my shot inside and close as that is where i get most of my looks.

is there any punishment gamewise for requesting a trade?

im playing for the nets and cant seem to dislodge sexual favors from the starting 5.

and morrow is in avery's doghouse but its okay for travis outlaw to jack 3's ad nauseum.

I remember requesting a trade from Grizzlies then playing like a dog the next game. Entire Fedex Forum was chanting "Trade him! Trade him!"

Thought that was a nice touch to the game.

Never got the trade in the end and now I'm starting SF ahead of Gay. He's the one requesting a trade now.

Playing PG for the Blazers, got the starting job after 5 games, struggled early on in the season and were about 6 games below .500. Then they traded Wesley Matthews, Elliot Williams, Luke Babbitt and a pick for Kevin Love and T-Mac. 9-game win streak at the moment, back-to-back wins over conference-leading Celtics and Spurs. Pretty tasty lineup now...

PG: Me / A Miller
SG:B Roy / T McGrady
SF: G Wallace / R Fernandez / N Batum
PF: L Aldridge / K Love
C: M Camby / G Oden
