That is the main rotation with a few prospects and bench guys (no one of note)

Did have Antwan Jamison as backup PF for a couple years then he got old and retired. Also had Hassan Whiteside as backup centre.

First thing I did was trade David Lee's disgusting huge contract. Got Whiteside, Dalembert and Thompson. Kept Dalembert for the first season before signing Hawes as a FA in the first off season.

I now have the problem of certain players showing their age and am really struggling to keep them developing. Ellis/Curry/Thompson haven't developed any further and Wright has gone backwards 2 points and Hawes is going great guns. He was like 65 when I got him.

81 Games.

I don't play the full 81, I sim until the all star break and play after that. While simmed the quarters are 12mins but when I start playing I change it to 5mins to match my game length.

A season usually takes about a week or so playing atleast a game a day, usually more.

I really only play assoc mode, I do 28 game season. 1. Because it is easier and I can play every game and 2. You have more time to develop players. 12 minute quarters on Superstar or All Star difficulty. (Hall of Fame on assoc mode is WAY too unrealistic)

Decided to basically be a GM in association mode...With the Pistons in 2017 went 73-9 (all simulated)...

PG - Jennings (96, acquired via free agency) (MVP 2017)
SG - Vincent (98, acquired via free agency, was #1 pick in 2011) (2 time finals MVP) (NBA 3rd team 2017)
SF - Flowers (97, acquired via trade (Monroe in 2011) #2 pick in 2011)
PF - North (86, drafted #7 in 2012)
C - Woods (85, drafted #5 in 2013)

6th Man - Pau Gasol (82, acquired via trade (Josh Smith), more so I can afford to pay all my starters than anything else)
6th Man - SG McGee (82, drafted #3 pick in 2011)

You'd think with such a dominating team we'd have more than one all-star too

Dunno if that's the norm for playing the game basically as a GM or not. Seems kinda easy...

I got sick of MyPlayer after a while (too many injuries even though I led the league in scoring and had high asts, reb, FG% couldn't MVP with only 50 games played and had conquered Finals already). So I gave up the game for a while and went onto AFL Live and a bit of FIFA.

Now I'm back on 2k11. Started an Assoc with Celtics and thought I'd shake things up a little. Sim'd season 1 and made a few trades prior to season 2. Not a fan of going the gree agent signing path as the game is too easy. I now have:

PG Rondo, West
SG Allen, JR Smith
SF Pierce, Cheap signing
PF Green, Rookie
C Bogut, Chandler, J.O'Neal

Trades made:
- Garnett + 2nd rd pick for Bogut, JR Smith plus their 1st rd pick (and they're bottom 4 in the standings) - Jeff Green was equal rating with Garnett and on the way up whilst Garnett going down.
- Shaq + Big Baby for Chandler + 1st rd pick via Pacers (also bottom 4 team) - Shaq was unhappy playing 30 mins a game anyway and wouldn't have re-signed past contract)

So on top of a good roster I now have 3 first round draft picks coming up with 2 potentially in top 5. Possibility of SG and SF to replace the aging vets.

Maybe I should've gone the free agent path as this has turned out a little easy too.

Just on the C's, Rondo is unbelievably unrealistic in this game. In My Player he is far too easy to defend because of his lack of perimeter shooting.

Love having key games against Rondo because it is easy xp. Always school him.

If you haven't played in a while it's probably the menu freeze everyone experienced last month. Try these steps to make it all work

My fellow PS3 friends. I too was quite annoyed when after trying to have a relaxing 2k session it froze on the team logos with the Jordan intro in the background. However, I have a fix.

You don't have to sign out of PSN to do this.

1. Go to the XMB main menu. Scroll along to the "Game" submenu.
2. Select the "Game Data Utility" option up the very top. Go down to NBA 2k11.
3. Press Triangle for options and then X for "Delete". This will delete the most recent game update, which we now know is corrupted and will cause the game to freeze on startup.
4. Load up the NBA 2k11 disc again (stay signed in on PSN).
5. You will be prompted to download the game update 1.30. Do this.
6. The 78MB update will be downloaded and then subsequently installed.
7. Play, and play online

All the roster and NBA Today updates seem to work. I quit the game and then loaded it up again, and no freeze at the team logos part. All is good. Enjoy

Delete the Game Data file. Not the Save data file.

Delete that, load it up, and it will work.

Just has a 35/17/15 game. Poor Wizards never had a chance.

I can never get 20 assists (10 minutes per quarter on My Player) because my team just goes on a predetermined cold streak and I have to shoulder the scoring to keep us in touch.

That is my number one pet hate about My Player. The AI seems to determine which games you can win and lose and if your team isnt scoring and shooting at 40-45%, you have to step it up to try and win.

Bit of a concern that NHL 2K12 was scrapped, and one report says 2Ksports is in big trouble.

But 2K apparently had second thoughts about sinking more money into a head-to-head battle with the EA Sports behemoth. "2K Sports will not release an NHL title for consoles this year," the company told Kotaku. That does presumably leave the door open for an iOS version of the game, which makes some sense given that EA Sports does not produce a version of its NHL series for the iPhone [yet], but with only two licensed sports titles remaining to its name - NBA 2K and MLB 2K - and the expiring Major League Baseball contract unlikely to be renewed, it seems more likely that the NHL series, and perhaps, eventually, the entire 2K Sports brand, will simply be left to wither and die.

Yeah they will definately still make NBA games, I'm pretty sure they just did get a new contract with the NBA to develop games for a few more years aswell.
Heaps of my mates have got the game who don't really like basketball and they all think it's the best shit going around.

Almost exclussively play myplayer mode on the PC...

First run through as an undersized slashing SG, but ended up a shooter. Forced the game to make sure I was a bench player until I was "good enough" to get more minutes, so first season I'd get like 2-3 mins a game at Orlando. Made the NBA finals but lost to OKC."

what did you use to force the game to keep you as a bench player?

Also anyone recommend what mods I should be getting for the pc version?

this game can get frustrating, im doubling sexual favours points and rebounds and still cant dislodge the pr1ck from the starting 5.

and anyone have any problems with OT's? i keep getting subbed out with a minute left and it seems that i have missed like 2 or 3 OT's (an extra 30 points was scored on one occassion). but in the boxscore there isnt a disparity in minutes. its like phantom OT where there are no stats.

I was getting sick of picking up niggling injuries as well.

Have only played 65 games in each of my two seasons. First season a big 8 week injury cost me the MVP, the second season, plenty of little niggles, still managed to pick up the MVP.

Oh, and coincidentally, in my first season, 2k predicted a Heat v Mavs finals series, with Mavs winning. Omen?
