Even though your ratings are very high you are still not going to get every shot in, remember that. Good three point shooters only shoot 40% tops, so don't stress if you miss a few.

The annoying thing about that is that the CPU will slot three after three after three.

I can always tell when its going to happen too. When they run a screen for a three point shooter, if the player slots perfectly into the shot position (it looks like they do a 180 jump and looks very video-gamey) they'll slot it time after time after time.

Yeah definitely, was playing yesterday and couldn't slot shit, the cpu passes it twice and kept slotting threes.

one thing i dont understand is that how when you try a tip in or tip it to yourself after a team mates shot you're not credited with a offensive board.

and another quirk is stealing, sometimes i have poked the ball free and my team mate has made the steal yet i get the stat.

and defence does suck, especially when you're a slow pf that is moved to the sf slot.

Get this a lot, though my PF isn't that slow.

The video posted above by hans moleman has really helped me out with my on-ball defense, I highly recommend people watch it, particularly the part about breaking up the key into 5 separate angles - Basically shows you what angles to run/move/strafe at when stopping the ball carrier and I've found it extremely effective so far.

Anyway, finally won our 20th game of the season after losing the last 16 straight :o

And yet I've found that sometimes when several people go up for a rebound, you tap it up higher and another player brings it down, you still get credited for the rebound.

Started playing the Xbox 360 version again recently, i'm finding it hard adjusting to how it plays on that console vs the pc version. Using the same controller, yet i have to put more effort into everything on the 360, whereas on pc it's far easier.

The only REAL difference i notice is that the sound effects (such as the pre game graphics doing the extra swoosh noises, half time report etc), crowd audio is much better on the 360.... but this is probably due to my pc speaker setup belonging in the stone age (2x speakers from 8 years ago).

But in terms of playing the game, i am finding shooting - specifically timing shots much more difficult on the 360, whereas on the pc it's fairly straight forward. The timing on the pc version feels much more natural, while on 360.... when pressing the button or using the shot stick - despite the animation not showing it.... it controls much more like you were doing the real life equivalent of shooting 1 handed.

I do like how the 360 version plays when you play a normal game (as opposed to my player), the pc version controls too fluidly, while on the 360 it feels more mechanical (which is good in a way, that i don't make as many errors while controlling the ball).

Alright, this is really frustrating the hell outta me.

I'd say maybe 50% of the time when I try to pump fake in or near the key, my player decides to shoot instead, and because I've already released the shot stick as I was actually trying to pump fake, not shoot, I always miss the shot due to bad timing.

What am I doing wrong?

I play on the 360 and my technique is to move the right stick in any direction, and then center it again. Am I actually meant to hold the stick for a slight moment in a direction before centering it, or is it a matter of just flicking it quickly?

I've tried both methods with mixed results. When I try flicking it, I'm not sure if it's that the stick over-corrects itself when I release it to center it, therefor making me shoot, or something else, but it seems to make me shoot most of the time regardless.

When I try holding the stick in a direction for a slight moment (have tried all different lengths of time) before releasing it, again I'm not sure why but the result is a shot instead of a pump fake probably 50% of the time.

It's not only frustrating but it's costing me matches in My Player with my PF.

I'm still also struggling a bit on offence once the play making graphics disappear off screen. I've also noticed that sometimes when I'm asked to set a screen, my teammate who I'm meant to be screening for runs his route way too quickly, not giving me half a chance to get in position to set the screen for him.

Any tips at all are muchly appreciated, especially for power forwards in 'My Player' as that's pretty much all I play.

Tried flicking - no luck, shoots 90% of the time for me (unless I'm flicking it wrong which is surely not possible?)

Only problem with pressing 'X' is that you can't vary your pump fakes, to my knowledge anyway, I could be wrong?

I've had the most success by holding the stick for just a slight moment (like, 1/4 of a second) before releasing it to the center. Still doesn't work every time and I'm not sure, but it feels like it's a different timing again for when you pump fake while holding the layup button, LT (L2), but that's probably not the case.

Still struggling a little in general play too unfortunately. My team, Cleveland, traded in CP3 who is a star player, and along with Irving, Sessions, a number 6 pick rookie center and myself, the team is rated '88' overall. After a good start to the season, CP3 got injured and could only play limited time for the next 8 weeks. We lost all 8 matches. Then, just a couple of games after his return, my player got injured and was out for a few games too. We won just one of those. Since returning to the lineup, we've gone 2-6 with a few major losses to teams we should have beat, and now find ourselves third last in the conference :(

Playing Create a Legend mode as the Durantula and my god do I have to carry the team. My statline 34 games into the season reads (playing key games only) 43ppg, 9rpg, 4apg, 2spg and 2bpg. Average about 55ppg, 5rpg, 3apg, 3spg, 3bpg when I play. Even simulating the games Durant as only managed to score less then 30 on 5 occasions out of 34.

Had a few interesting matches so far, one against the Trailblazers where I scored with 2.7 left on the clock over the top of Batum to win. Another against the Mavericks where we lost in double OT, Nowitzki is just about unstoppable once he posts up.

Funnily enough I had the easiest game against the Heat (without Wade), had a 30 odd point lead midway through the 3rd and we just slowed down and tried to drain the clock (LeBrick had 12 points), LeBron decided to do it all himself, was bringing the ball up the court and was pretty much driving to the lane around screens everytime once he gets a step on you it is gameover. He finished with 38 points out of the 77 they scored but we still were able to win by 25. Going to have a hard time against them in the Finals (if both make it) if Wade is fit, his onlly played 5 games so far due to breaking his arm.

Anyone else find it much easier to guard guys like LeBron, Gay, Wallace and guys who drive to the basket then guys such as Melo, Granger, Kobe who can both drive and shoot the perimeter? I feel like I can sit off LeBron on the 3 and force him to drive towards my help, as he can't hit the outside shot consistently.

Thinking about buying this from ozgameshop, but wondering is there any point buying it this late after release? Asking purely out of the whole is the online going to die in a month or two because 13 comes out?

'13 comes out late October, so you still have 6 months for playing. IMO it would be worth it and there is still as many people on online as there was day 1.

On the contrary, it's playoff time in two weeks, so interest will surge again.

It's well worth buying. Frustrating, but can be very rewarding.

I bought it on release day and have only really played MP and a week of an online association before it fell to pieces. It is a very deep game.

Managed to pick up 2k11 for $3.50 today, couldn't find 2k12 on special anywhere so figure i'll give this a go then get 12 if it comes on special or 13 when it comes out, whichever happens first.

The fact the last nba game i owned was 2k6 is showing a bit, first game, grade F lol...

2k11 is apparently better than 2k12, so great buy.

Is it normal to not get double teamed at all in my player mode? Averaging 44ppg and never been double teamed.

dont think so, since im averaging 50ppg, 8.5rpg, 9spg, 4.5bpg 9.8apg and im getting triple teamed per game (great for drawing fouls)

i hope in '13 they fix the rebounding system, im getting sick of the ball being outside the rim (on both ends) and being called for goaltending or offensive interference

thought so. I get the odd double team in the low post (playing as Durant) but it seems more by accident as a player gets close while trailing a teammate.Every game Westbrook gets doubleteamed at some point (he averages 20ppg, 6apg) where I average (44ppg, 5apg) but they choose to double him, makes no sense and it just allows me to drain 3 after 3. Could it be that I'm on All-Star not Hall of Fame?

Is there a way to see the other teams' salary cap position at a glance in Association mode?

I'm trying to offload overpaid players, and it's very frustrating not knowing if a team has salary cap room without laboriously offering a trade to one after the other.

yeah, i play pf/c and am always getting called for goal tending.

i wish the system was smart enough that your player only grabbed the ball if it is out of the cyclinder.
