Will be nothing more than a glorified micro-transaction ruined pay to win Roster update. 2k18's MyTeam was the last straw for me, Could only purchase boxes with VC, not MT points, almost impossible to do challenges and not purchase contracts, and standard pay to win MyPlayer

MyTeam is a throwaway mode now, they put sparkly players over any sort of game balancing. 5-out wouldn't break the game if players had realistic abilities.
Neighbourhood is just an excuse to fit in 5x the advertisements, so it will be coming back.
I hate the game ethically but the gameplay is great so I'll cop it.

Will be the first 2k I miss since 2012. Last year was it for me. I like playing the mycareer but the story is so far fetched now its hard to get into and the grind now is ridiculous. The sad thing about it all....Its an NBA game....How hard is it make an interesting career mode?

i'll get it but i know its gonna be s**t. At least i win on park and pro am which makes it bearable. If i wasnt on a good pro am team there is no way i would consider getting this game.
The last 2 NBA2k games I've gotten were Free via PSN (2017) and On sale for $10 (2018) and I'll be doing the same either waiting for it to be free or super cheap.

Will not be getting this launch day. It's a become a money grabbing pit that has gotten ridiculous. You want a tattoo = 200VC. Don't like it now = 150vc to remove it.

I'm with you. 2k have lost the plot completely. They've developed a fantastic basketball sim, and hidden it behind a wall of microtransactions.
They're supposedly letting up a bit on the VC this year but I'll believe it when I see it.
I skipped last year and went my first year without a bball game since probably Live 96, it's just too brutal with what they've down with VC over the years. It's a shame it doesn't get as much publicity as some of the other games recently that have had uproars about that sort of stuff because it's been just invasive as all those things if not worse for years but seems to go under the radar because it's a sports game.
I pre-ordered digitally.

I want an easier way to set overall defensive philosophy in mygm/myleague. No option in the coaching area from the menu, have to change it ingame everytime.

There is a screen where you can set your defensive settings in the regular MyLeague menu.

been looking over reddit and other forums, no real news yet in terms of gameplay and modes like mycareer. when is this news expected?
I'm only getting it on launch if they bring back blacktop for My Team.

I've also done this for the past 2 years, usually around playoffs it's either free or discounted to hell. * 2k, need to send a message to these companies (like EA) they we are not going to put up with their crap.
2k were the most respectable sports video game company for ages (even when they had NFL) and they're just wrecking it year on year now.
