Here's a leak so far:

MVP:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=MVP08

Kobe Bryant: 64 points (9 first-place votes, 2 second, 3 third, 1 fourth)
Chris Paul: 60 points (4 first-place votes, 8 second, 2 third, 1 fourth)
Kevin Garnett: 44 points (1 first-place vote, 4 second, 5 third, 3 fourth, 2 fifth)
LeBron James: 37 points (1 first-place vote, 1 second, 5 third, 5 second, 3 fifth)
Dwight Howard: 10 points (3 fourth-place votes, 4 fifth)
Amare Stoudemire: 6 points (2 fourth-place votes, 2 fifth)

Hollinger surprise surprise was the one that gave Kobe 4th.

how the ____ did lebron get a first-place vote?

anyway, Kobe leads the MVP charge early, leading with 15 out of 125 voters.

Wtf?

Not 1 single vote for Camby in DPOY.

was a joke.
I'm a nuggets fan and I think he is overrated..

He only gets so many blocks because our perimeter defense sucks and he gets alot more oppurtunities.. K-Mart is probably our best defender..

As for the MVP I think CP3 is most deserving but Kobe will probably win it.. He got the Lakers the number 1 seed and that's been the criteria for recent years..

Camby will win the DPOY, because all the media does is look at rebounds, blocks, and steals, and Camby rapes any other player in those catagory.

Anyways, i hope we can use MC as good trade bait for next season.

When will people realise that Kobe's last 2 seasons were better than the one he's playing now.

He dragged a hopeless lakers team into the playoffs off his own back twice and now that he's got Pau and Bynum and their shitting it in he's the auotmatic MVP.

Think were CP3 has come from and what he's had to do to get the Hornets into the top of the greatest conference ever assembled.

Paul is more valuable to the hornets than Kobe is to the lakers when they've got Bynum and Pau.

Edit: And KG has DPoY all wrapped up, his will alone has completely transformed Boston

My MVP ballot

1. Deron Williams - if not for some brain fades on the road against poor teams, the Jazz would be on top of the West with 60+ wins. Deron is clearly the best PG in the game (unless you work for ESPN and have no idea about basketball), and is about to join some elite company. Not only domionates the whole league, but completely owns the NBA's 2nd best PG, Chris Paul.

Deron Williams has scored 1,523 points, handed out 851 assists and shot .509 from the field this season. He has joined Magic Johnson (1986-87 and 1988-89) and Kevin Johnson (1988-89) as the only players in league history to score 1,500 points, hand out 800 assists and shoot 50 percent from the field in a single season

the rest

2. Kobe Bryant
3, Chris Paul
4. Lebron James
5. Dwight Howard

Deron wont factor in the voting. No chance. You're easily the most one-eyed fan ive ever seen on these boards, and its wearing thin. Cant you start contributing something useful for once?

Kobe will probably win the MVP, and although he doesnt exactly deserve it for this season, he does as a recognition of his last 4 or so (as bad as that is). I think Paul will pick one up in the next few years anyway, so let Kobe finally get one.

Oh, and I think I saw today that Paul became only the 8th player to average 20ppg and 10apg over a full season. Congrats to him, and also to Deron for his achievement. :thumbsu:

Not one eyed, just able to form my own opinion

Deron Williams has had a better year than Chris Paul, no matter what ESPn says

Meh I guess he played the bare minimum 21 games?

The rules arent his fault but really, he barely counts as a 6th man this year.

This is what Bill Simmons said recently about Manu.He had him ranked 5th in his MVP voting

What a farce that he didnt make the All-star team.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/080416

5. Manu Ginobili
Ginobili's particularly unique impact this season defied any conceivable statistical measure until our friends at 82games.com unveiled "Clutch Stats" (fourth quarter or OT, five minutes or less, five-point margin or less) and "Super-Clutch Stats" (fourth quarter or OT, two minutes or less, three-point margin or less). In "Clutch" situations, the Argentinian (I love calling him that) averaged nearly a point a minute and shot 57 percent from the field, 44 percent from 3 and 93 percent from the foul line. In "Super-Clutch" situations, Manu was the third-best scorer (behind LeBron and Kobe) and shot a jaw-dropping 62 percent from the field. Throw in free-throw attempts and you could make a case that Manu was a lock to score seven out of 10 times in the last two minutes of every close game. There might be better players, but nobody's better with the bread in the toaster. Not even Kobe.

I'm just wondering how both sides are going to react when they give the MVP to Kobe.

Well done Manu, some recognition for a wonderful year.

As for the MVP, i'd love to see Paul get it, but i think that maybe Kobe will.

That seems to be the attitude of the media as well - "Well, Paul's been the better player, but if we don't give it to Kobe this time we'll hurt his feelings". As much as Nowitzki didn't deserve it last year, Kobe is even less deserving this year. Yes, he was robbed in '06, but this isn't a life-time achievement award.
