Some very good players getting picked, but I'm really happy we got Pippen.

Reckon the modern era is gonna be interesting...

Kidd is a surprising, but worthy pick 1 in this era. He makes others better. One of the most well rounded players ever.

Yeah, this is interesting. I'm a best available guy and this guy is one of the all time greats.

A 3 time finals MVP, once MVP. 93 Rookie of the Year, 3 time All Star MVP. Lead the league in scoring twice and field goal percentage 9 times. Member of the 25k/10k club. 4 rings.

Transcended basketball. I won't even use his full name.

Shaq

SG: Baylor
SF: DeBusschere

Damn, damn, damn you all!:p

Whats with all these massive front-lines?!!

I'll give Danger in Texas a bit of time to get online, then I'll take his pick.

He said he wasn't going to be here all weekend, so just go

Ah **** it! Looking down the list I was given, there is a stand-out player that I'm sure DiT would live on his team...

Kevin Garnett

Yes you Kevin, you honey-nut Cheerios munching muther****er!

Making the jump straight from High School, Garnett was as athletic as they come. At 7ft he could play anywhere from SF to C. The big ticket slogged it out in Minny for 12 years without much success, until he was part of the largest trade in NBA history that sent him to the Celtics.

Garnett could play at either end and brings an infectious enthusiasm to his team.

Career averages:

19.2 ppg
10.5rpg
4apg
1.5bpg

.499 FG%
.790 FT%

Over to you Chadwiko with the double...

This was harder than I was expecting, because there's so many good players available. However, I really need to start actually addressing team needs over taking absolute best-available players, and leave that luxury to the remaining 2000-present period.

So, without further ado, my picks

Dikembe Mutumbo

hou_mp050127_mutombo_320.jpg

Needed a defensive anchor to work alongside Dennis Rodman, and how can you pass up this absolute beast?

Now I really need a classy SF, and realistically, how can you go past The Truth?
Paul Pierce

This is how my team is shaping up now. Try and beat it...

PG Magic Johnson
SG Michael Jordan
SF Paul Pierce
PF Dennis Rodman
C Dikembe Mutumbo

Bench

Jerry West
Robert Parish
Willis Reed
Tommy Heinsohn
Dave Cowens

Time for a another knock-down shooter. A lot of teams are filled with inside defenders, so we're going to shoot over the top.

Dirk Nowitzki
GIFSoup

It took Dirk a long time to earn respect and a Championship, but he is well and truly there now. Quite possibly the best player to come out of Europe. Hopefully he retires as a Mav and a 1 club man.

Career averages:

22.9ppg
8.3rpg
2.6apg
1.0bpg

I definitely need some scoring. I've gone very defensive so far. That's not to say this guy can't defend. He carried teams.

9x All Star
All time leader in 3 pointers made
1 ring with the Celtics
Carried the Bucks and Sonics to winning seasons.
Starred in a Spike Lee movie (and did it well)

He'll come off the bench and score like a boss, but he'll be on this team to ice games when it gets close. I don't think there is a better game icer than Jesus.

He also allows me to go super small if I have to.

Ray Allen
