NBA Eras Draft

Really only 2 choices for me here. Although I had really hoped for Russell -- I'm assuming everyone would have picked him first.

So I wanted someone great, obviously, but also someone who I liked. Which ruled the other one out.

So here are some stats.

'59 Rookie of the Year (All Star MVP in the same year)
8 runner ups -- the first of the 'how did he now win a title' team.
Averaged 27-13-4 in playoffs.
Career: 27.4ppg (4th), 13.5reb (10th)
Changed the game.

Elgin Baylor

He'll be slotting into the team at small forward. He'll be great.

In memory of dk mkcjcejfnjern - a legendary poster for completely different reasons.

The DK Alphabets are a proud club that has existed from the beginning of time. We have entered every competition possible - and succeeded. From the NFL, to the Illinois Pie Eating Contest, to the Sydney to Hobart. Our trophy case is literally stacked - not even Man U could beak out the DK's.

It is this year, though, that we have entered the NBA. The club has been chosen, along with five other small-fry clubs, to draft a number of NBA all-time legends from different eras. No doubt we will prevail once again.

Now to draft our next player. *talking about a bribe can be heard at the DK table*

"With the 3rd pick in the NBA Eras Draft '1947-1962', the DK Alphabets select...

Oscar Robertson, from the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks."

'The Big O', 'Mr Triple Double' or whatever you like to call him, was no doubt the perfect guard. Robertson could score, pass and rebound too, as shown by his triple-double season in 1961-62. A little known fact is that he only just missed out on 3 other triple-double seasons - if he had accomplished 4 of that type through his career, no doubt his record would stand forever. In fact, he averaged a triple-double over the first five seasons of his career. Although not necessarily known to be a big scorer, he could score from the inside and outside, and was a very handy playmaker. He was Mr Versatile - as shown by his stats. He was credited with inventing the fadeaway. His awards are pretty impressive too:

He'll play as either a 1 or 2 guard - it simply doesn't matter with The Big O.

And you can't make an Oscar Robertson pick without posting this:

Cool az, bruh!

And with that, Chadwiko is up!

Jerry West

The Uptown Five will need to clean some of that Lakers stank off of him, but as an all time great player, he was hard to pass up considering he (just) fits into this era.

MYSTIC GOHANS
As a franchise, we stand for the awesomeness of a poster once known as 'Gohan'. His intricate detailing and basketball knowledge was unorthodox, yet effective and amusing. Of course, as they say... "What goes up, must come down." And young Gohan went down, but not without a fight. Legend has it he fought long and hard to turn around a what was titanic BigBetty moment when he chose to gamble away his BF livelihood. Alas, he is here no more... As a result, I would like to dedicate my team in honour of the Son of all Saiyans, and call the team "Mystic Gohans".

So without further a do...

"WITH THE FIFTH OVERALL DRAFT IN THE NBA ERAS DRAFT '1947-1960', THE MYSTIC GOHANS SELECT...

WILTAN NORMAN 'WILT' CHAMBERLAIN, FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS."

chamberlain01_display_image.jpg
('The Big Dipper', immortalised in this picture, as it marked his 100 point game.)
I would like to summon the ghost of young Gohan when going into detail about these Goliaths of the Hardwood with each pick that I select...

Gohan said:
Thanks Boshtrich. Anyway, here is my reasoning into why Wilt was the best. He was tall as hell, so no one was gonna defend him that well. He was a good dunker, so that's a positive. He weighed throughout his career around 260 pounds to 300+ pounts. What's more impressive was that he averaged 22.9 rebounds for his career! His best year was 1961-62, as in that year he averaged 50.4 points per game. A shitload of accolades could be mentioned here, but one thing that will mark him down as the best of the best, will be that his NBA 2K12 rating is an ultimate 99! I remember saying to nbaman1 that no one has ever or that no one will ever be a 99 rating in 2K, but I guess I was wrong. An awesome pick here for the Mystic Me's, and one even more impressive if Wilt played for OKC.

Well Gohan, good summation. Here are the stats to prove why he's one of the best and such...
