Good win by the Nets. Also good to see Richard Jefferson quit his Keith Van Horn impersonation. Kevin Willis - posterized.

Around their throats......... again. Never seen a team that seems to want to lose as bad as the Spurs. Wasteful is a good word to describe them.

There's no place like the SBC.
There's no place like the SBC.

There's no place like the SBC.

Okay. Let me vent.
Speedy Claxton. Was KILLING THE NETS. So what happens? We take him off and the Nets get back into the game. I love Tony Parker, but jeez.. when Claxton is setting up the play like that and making stops - LET HIM PLAY!

Free Speedy Claxton

Parker, Jackson, Bowen and Malik were all ordinary today.

Timmy, David and Willis were all effective. Foul trouble hurt.

I reckon Kerr should have taken the last three.. but ah well..

We must rebound from this loss. Parker, Rose and Jackson need to get into the games.

...Maybe we just wanted to win the series at home....:p

Jefferson was the game breaker. K-Mart and Duncan continued to play like they can, Kidd whilst being better still wasnt the offensive force he can be but Jefferson finally turned up to the NBA Finals.

Both teams shot horrifically and it was ugly basketball but you have to give credit to the Nets. After being up 15 and then wilting under the Spurs pressure, it was great to see them compose themselves and get back in front and eventually win the game.

Parker was horrible, as was Jackson, Rose and Bowen. Those four guys collectively shot 4 of 39!!!! You cant have 3 of your starters and your 6th man shoot that bad and expect to win.

Game 5 will be HUGE! Nets simply must win it because I cant see them winning both games at the SBC Center to take the series. Cant wait.

Someone get the spirit out of this fella and put it into the Spurs that forgot to show in yesterdays match.

Oh, Mario. Mario.

Stephen Jackson said:
"I know I can perform and I know these guys (the Nets) can't stop me from performing. I'm self-checking myself. It's nothing New Jersey is doing. It's nothing the refs are doing. It's something I'm doing."

Deperately need Jack back on track tomorrow.

Great win by the Spurs!

Surely they have the series in the bag now, with game 6 to be held in San Antonio. But ya never know, especially with the way things have gone in the series so far.

This man is ...THE MAN!

Malik Rose did a great job and gave us some of that intensity that we require from him. A much better outing from Rose.

Kidd still got the better of Parker, but his influence seemed to die off later into the match.

Kenyon Martin's foul trouble was a big part in the game. Limiting his impact gave us the chance to work harder in the paint, and also took away the Nets second-string scoring threat.

Manu was back into fine form, and Claxton was once again efficient.

In David Robinson's last ever road game, we came through with the goods, and D-Rob had a fairly big part in that.

Stevie Kerr's heroics once again had me running around the house like a mad chook. Showed his veteran savvy when he chose to shoot the 2. 5 of the most imporant points of the ball game.

It should be noted that Martin was suffered the effects of the flu.

Let's take it back to the SBC Center! :)

If Kenyon Martin was not the dumbest basketball player in the series, the Spurs wouldn't be going back to SBC 3-2. They did well to get out of Jersey with two wins, and without being pulled into orbit of TJ Kidd's head.

The Nets cannot win from here if they're not willing to all step-up at once. Spurs in 6.

Steve Kerr
“I've got the greatest job on earth," Kerr said. "I come in, I play like six minutes, I make a couple of shots and then I come do interviews in the interview room."

:D :p Gotta love Stevie!

I dunno man, I reckon Pete Sampras has the best job in the world...

First round exit, go home and do Bridgette Wilson... repeat.

Jason Kidd

Game 1, 4-17 FGs
Game 2, 11-24 FGs
Game 3, 6-19 FGs
Game 4, 5-18 FGs
Game 5, 10-23 FGs

I wonder what odds you could have got for Kidd missing exactly 13 shots in each game of the finals...

To be fair to K-Mart, you could clearly see he was affected by the illness he was feeling. He took himself out of the game after 6 minutes in the first quarter and only took 8 shots. Clearly not the 100% K-Mart. But champions play like champions, sick or not, just see Jordan against the Jazz in the famous bad pizza Game 5. Not to compare K-Mart to MJ, Martin is still a youngster in just his third year so he has time to get his head around playing through stuff like that.

I actually laughed out loud for several minutes when I read that. :D Very, very funny!! :p

lol...just re-read it and had another quick chuckle! :D

Oh and the Nets are gone. No way will they win two games at the SBC center. But despite the ugly series we have watched, it has been far more entertaining than the previous 3 years when the Lakers just wiped the floor with whoever got in the way.

I like that K-Mart didn`t look for any excuses after the game. He was disappointed in his performance. He`s really matured a lot this season and is having a good post season.

Game 6 tomorrow.
Possibly David Robinsons last ever game in his career and in San Antonio. Will be a great event for me to watch.

Kenyon Martin
3 of 23 from the field is that a misprint or did he just have an absolute nightmare?????

Which Nets is going to come out this year and bag the performances of his fellows, namely Kenyon Martin, Rodney Rogers and Lucious Harris? Richard Jefferson, I'll bet.
