It looks like we might see up to 20 NBA games a month this season

ESPN's coverage plus Foxtels coverage means tonnes of games.

Come playoff time we might be able to watch almost all of the games (80%) considering ESPNs coverage

Does anybody know if ESPN will be showing college basketball?

Looking forward to catching some Boston, Dallas, Spurs, Sacramento and New Jersey action... and let us not forget my beloved Clippers.

Hopefully some of the teams catch on to the team-ball philosophy that took Argentina and Yugoslavia to the WC Final. Anyway, should make some good viewing.

sorry, i'm a bit new to paytv..

what do u mean by foxtel & espn..

so, u got foxtel right? and also pay for the espn sports service?

whats on optus then?

after hearing 20 games a month (i almost fell off my chair)..
i might sign up just for that.. instead of going down to the sports bars to watch a game..

cheers, thanks ~

Yep its gonna be awesome and its the only reason why i bit the bullet and signed up on Foxtel.

Coxy...just get Foxtel and ask for the sports entertainment package which gives you ESPN on top of Fox Sports 1 and 2. Between the 3 channels, we are in for a whole bunch of NBA games this season. I cant wait.

We may even get some preseason games in October??

FOX Sports might as well be called Lakers TV

Heck, even Fox Sports News International is the one from LA.

Anyway, I cant wait till the NBA season starts, and hopefulyl ESPN will show teams like th Bulls, Clippers, Cavs and Nuggets aswell. So we can see the Next generation players. And for gods sake, please dont show those pitiful Wizards.

To get ESPN (this year), you needed to be subscribed to the AFL channel, not sure how it will work next season.

No luck, we only get 'NBA Action' (a half hour show) once every few days.

Damn skippy....Im getting all the adds on ESPN now telling us what is coming up in October. NBA !!! Shows a nice Iverson layup and then a real pretty behind the back, loose defender, and reverse dunk from Carter...with the voice saying AND MORE NBA THAN EVER BEFORE!! :D

8 games a month

Unfornately Fox Sports will not be televising NBA games for the 2002-03 season, obviously as ESPN is now available on Foxtel.

ESPN (Pac-rim not US) will televising 2 games per week live up until the play-offs

Ah, so we aren't any better off then we were late in the last season

Farkin Foxtel, they give with one hand, and take with the other.

There is still way more games on ESPN than there was last season on Fox Sports. Last season you were lucky to get 2 games a week. On October 30th...you get a double header right off the bat!!

Oh and where did you hear this...any facts to back it up?

Re

I e-mailed Fox Sports regaring coverage of NBA and they said,
Fox Sports will not be telecasting the 2002-03 NBA Season as ESPN hold the rights, it went something like that.

I got the ESPN telecast times from there TV listings page on there web site UNDER THE PACIFIC-RIM listing.
There is a opening day double header but after that its 2 games a week on Wednesday and Saturday.

The ESPN we get is the Pacific-Rim version, vastly different to the ESPN the United States get.

When you read listings from NBA.COM (or page 1 on this thread)is sais ESPN is covering double headers on 2 nights per week, however that in the US, here it is only 1 game on Wed and Sat, up until play-off time.

The opening doubleheader on ESPN will be

Philadelphia vs Orlando
San Antonio vs LA Lakers

:)

That sucks that Fox sports wont show the NBA... I loved watching the same teams every thursday afternoon :p

San Antonio vs LA Lakers !!!!!!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

*drools*
Thank you ESPN!

Still, Fox Sports are being weak here. What else will they show?
jeez.

Goddamitt. That's pretty annoying seen as were are getting almost every NFL game and a heap of Baseball right now on ESPN? Why not heaps of NBA when it starts??? Very annoying.

It will still be good though, because on top of games you will get Sportcenter which is great and NBA Action. That is way better than getting just the final scores off Sports Tonight  or recaps of NBA.com.
