Congrats to the franchise, too damn good. Next season for the 36ers it’ll be a championship win or BUST, NO excuses next season. MUST play well ALL season.

Also if the rumours of the crows taking a share in the 36ers & having the former teams’ logo on the 36ers kit do come true (please no), then I PERSONALLY will rock up to at least one home game in my Power guernsey in protest

Great finals series and enjoyed the banter in here. Great to have the NBL relevant again!

How nice is it to have someone other than New Zealand or Perth win the championship for one.

Last time that happened Brisbane and Sydney players weren't getting paid.

Who was the last team to win before Perth/NZ? Melbourne

South Dragons in 08/09 (before withdrawing from the NBL)

Depending on what story you want to take on United they'll be counting that as one of theirs.

Tigers won in in 07/08

Yep so Melb/Perth/NZ have owned the last 20 years basically

10 years

Last team to win outside of that cartel was the Bullets in 2006/07.

Before that was the Kings buying a 3peat, then you're going back to the 36ers halcyon days.

I would have gone prather ahead of goulding for mvp but good choice anyway.

He spoke well after the game as well.

Looking forward to seeing how the squads stack up for next year. Perth might be due fora big refresh, and gliddon isn't coming back to Cairns so is probably heading across. Wesley situation is interesting as well.

Finally managed to watch a recording of the game this morning. Gutted, but can’t say I was very hopeful of a win on Melbourne’s home court. Pretty much went as I expected.

Well done United, I said at the start of the season it was their’s to lose.

I just hope the 36ers are able to retain most of their squad and give it another shake next time. Please, please, please come back Josh Childress!

Very deserving winners are United, from the regular season to the finals and their backcourt proved to be the best in the business which is critical in their success. Happy for the fans who were promised a championship, for the hard work from Goulding and Co who will provide another cracker season in 18/19 and prove to their counterparts they will be hard to beat.

*Buying/Bankrupting to a 3peat.

We didn't pay our players but we got a 3 peat.

It's why I wasn't comfortable with reviving the Kings brand when they came back - the owners during that period pretty much destroyed the brand. Full credit to the NBL for getting the brand out of the gutter.
