With moves already happening and free agency just over a week away, I guess this is a good time to get the new thread underway?
Significant news so far:
Adelaide - Moved to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Brisbane - Re-signed Lemanis for 3 years
Illawarra - Matt Flinn signed as head coach
Perth - Trevor Gleeson re-signed for 3 more seasons as head coach
South East Melbourne:
- Join the NBL, with Simon Mitchell as head coach, Ian Stacker & Judd Flavell as assistants, Tommy Greer as GM. Same home court as United.
- Ben Madgen and Mitch Creek (presumably with out clauses) the first players signed
Sydney:
- Will Weaver signed as head coach
- Tom Wilson, who was contracted for the upcoming season, was granted a release from his contract to pursue an AFL career as a Category B rookie.

Who is Will Weaver?

I see that he is the Long Island Nets Coach but also a Boomers assistant coach. He is an American and I can’t see any previous Australian connection other than working with Brett Brown at Philly. Is that how he came to be a Boomers assistant?

Who’s the big fella that never misses hook shots for the wildcats, I hope Phoenix sign him
Brandt was still under contract with the Wildcats for next season, but we released him to chase opportunities in Europe.
(Not that that makes it impossible for him to end up at SEM, considering we did the same thing years ago with CJ Bruton and then he just went straight to another NBL team!)

Btw I will try to keep the first post in this thread updated as I see new signings

I haven’t really followed much since the dragons left but the few games I have seen of him he has been unguardable, does not miss his hook shots

Wasn't quite as big of a weapon this past season, but mostly due to injury interruptions. He's as good an aussie big man as we have in the NBL, and overall he got the better of Bogut, which had to be good for his confidence (and maybe contributed to him wanting to give Europe a go). Guys like him with genuine low post moves are kinda rare these days, sadly.

Not confirmed yet?
He tweeted this himself a little while ago:
Iight. Everyone is blowing me up. I'll just go ahead and say I'm excited to sign with @MelbUnitedHQ ! Thank you @NZBreakers for the opportunity and support last season. I look forward to joining one of my good friends @_STAYMELO this upcoming @NBL season. Let's go!!!!!
...but has subsequently deleted the tweet, so I guess it's a done deal but not "official" just yet.
[ETA] Actually maybe he didn't delete the tweet, but just set his account to private and that's why I can no longer see it.
Either way, I think he's off to Melbourne.
