Taipans are in pretty dire financial stress, Jervis signed on since his partner is playing netball over there and he'll basically be part time. Big man is on his last legs as well.

Hawks are as well, the NBL had to come to the table to help as they couldnt pay the super owed to everyone. by the 3 months its supposed to be deposited.

Hawks also have a horrific contract with the stadium which is from the old management,

Spit balling ideas but could a northern Queensland teams split between Townsville and Cairns work? Townsville used to be a good team at one stage, support could still be there.

Was going to suggest a team split between Illawarra and Newcastle as well, but given they are both north and south of Sydney that might not work

Cairns is a well supported team. Not sure of the ticketing price point but I imagine ticket sales are solid following the eye test watching games. Trying to attract FA’s to play there is another story. Townsville is the same. Illawarra and Cairns are struggling to meet the salary cap floor, whilst Melbourne, Sydney and Perth are all likely paying luxury tax. Until the ownership of Illawarra and Cairns get some help or go all in to land a star, I’m not sure how things can change.

After a slow start with their signings, the addition of Obi Kyei makes Adelaide 36ers the first team to complete their roster.
(see the first post of the thread for my best attempt at a team roster tracker)

NBL and ABPA negotiate new Collective Bargaining Agreement, securing higher minimum salary and increased cap
the CBA will increase the NBL’s minimum salary by 38 percent — now set at $55,000 — while development players will now earn a minimum salary of $17,000. Beyond that, clubs will now provide health insurance to all players
...
The NBL’s salary cap will be increased to $1.43 million for the 2019-20 season; an up-tick from $1.1 million.

Adam Silver discussing the RJ Hampton decision to come to the NBL. He has some good things to say about the Australian player development system and the NBL.
Wow, he sure did. Take a bow, Larry Kestelman.
(and make hay while the sun shines for the next couple of years because it sounds like Silver is going to close the door on NBL Next Stars pretty quickly now that he can see how good it looks compared to G League)

Terrico White not on the Wildcats list at the top of this topic. I don't think he's indicated anything other than a desire to suit up again for the Wildcats. Big concern losing both big men Brandt and Jervis. Hope they are not pinning their faith in Rhys Vague, he over rates his own shooting ability. We need a couple of quality replacements for Brandt and Jervis. Hopefully Terrico returns.
