36ers into the NBL Grand Final against Perth after dispensing with Melbourne tonight.

Final score 102 - 63

Rare that you see such a dominance in both the first and second halves. Teams 22 up at half-time usually win the game but lose the second half. Melbourne's 3-point percentage was appalling. Not sure what it ended up as but it was 6/27 at one point.

Melbourne jacked up 32 three point attempts and landed 7 (22%). Their field goal % was barely better at 26% (18/70). They must have been tossing up Hail Mary's.

My daughter came back after the game last night and said the crowd absolutely gave it to Goulding (?) all night

Are they called Hail Mary's because when you do them you haven't got a prayer?:p

Fantastic that the 36ers have finally made the Grand Final. But if recent history is anything to go by, then we're certainties to finish runner-up...

No need for any more spoiler alerts

Perth win Game 1 of the GF series 92-85, James Ennis unstoppable as usual, 10 rebounds to go with his 30 points.

Perth Wildcats 92 (Ennis 30, Beal 19, Redhage 13)
Adelaide 36ers 85 (Johnson 18, Teys 14, Petrie 14)

Killed by the offensive rebounds Perth were able to get. Even at the end we had a silly chance after the margin was reduced to 5 and we had possession with 0.33. But the 2-point shot was missed and the unending fouling started, dragging the last 30 seconds out to 5 minutes and delivering Perth a 7-point win. After last weeks demolition of the Tigers I was a bit worried about how we'd go against the Wildcats with the smaller Ervin back in. I know he's highly skilled but at times we looked much smaller than the Wildcats and I just felt selection should be on horses for courses.

Adelaide win 89-84. Back to Perth for Game 3.

Some clutch free throws by Ervin down the straight. Finished with 8/8.

Was there. :thumbsu:

Seriously one of the noisiest experiences of my life. Haven't been to a 36ers game since Mark Davis was still playing.

bandwagonner! :p

Watching on TV just before Rhys Carter missed his free throw in the dying seconds the commentator announced that Carter had not missed a free throw all season with Adelaide. Clunk.
