Who would’ve thought the saints would start 2-0 and Birchip start 0-2. Although I do think Birchip are still better it’s good to see

Hopefully Redbacks can do the right thing next week and Bulls go 0-3. Great for the league.Who would’ve thought the saints would start 2-0 and Birchip start 0-2. Although I do think Birchip are still better it’s good to see

I’ve woken up on the lions side of the bed . What a performance .
Stroobants is a force to be reckoned with and big ruck looks great
Still think the bulls will finish 5th and lion

Could be possible NCFL have a bye this weekend. Pies have been shit for a long time.Gday gents,
Longtime reader first time poster here.
Watched my best mates nephew play at Wedderburn in the Woosang challenge. Wasn’t much of a game, the navies could be in for a long season.
I can confirm the pies are still shit at Wedderburn, the savs are even worse. I can’t believe they sing about them.
Any truth to the rumour that Dale Hinkley is pulling on the guernsey for Rochester this wknd?
Steely’s savs??Gday gents,

Dont think Bulls have the points up their sleeve to be doing too much recruiting. Nulli on the other hand may be a different beast.Do you reckon any teams (Birchip) have picked up anymore players over this break?
Not sure how bad it was but. Connick was stretchered off last week with a nasty ankle. If he has an extended period on the side lines that opens up some points.Dont think Bulls have the points up their sleeve to be doing too much recruiting. Nulli on the other hand may be a different beast.
Open it up. If teams have it let them spend it. If they go broke then that’s their problem. Can’t police it no point trying and disadvantage those who can’t sneak their way through itBeen some recent media attention with an Article written today in The Age about the Salary cap and how it is common knowledge it is being blown all over the state and there is no "policing" of it by AFL VIC.
I would like to know peoples opinions on what the solution could be or what some of you think is a realistic and viable option in regards to Salary cap.
I understand in Leagues like NCFL without the junior numbers and more plainly the population in the towns and region there is very little choice but to recruit and spend to get players into clubs and field sides.
I understand its a bit of a tough topic to talk about and many can't comment opinions perhaps as much as they would like to.
I think it is more important to have footy teams and leagues in the country regions than to have a restrictive and over audited Salary cap.
There isn't a 1 solution solves all problems because the needs and requirements for leagues are not all the same.
Reckon Nulli will be hoping Pearce kicks some sooner rather than later, only kicked 1 so far for the year. Boort have a heap of injuries.Think it might be Nulli by 15goals. Donald need to win by at least 15 goals if they are any chance of playing finals. Everyone is beating Charlton by minimum 15. Sea Lake/Saints will give us an indication of where the Saints are.Open it up. If teams have it let them spend it. If they go broke then that’s their problem. Can’t police it no point trying and disadvantage those who can’t sneak their way through it
Tips for this week
Wedderburn v birchip
Wedderburn by 50
Reckon the burn are flying at the moment and the bulls not so much. Think the burn will be too good. Ben Lakin and Dale Hinkley will be very very important for the bulls.
Sea lake v st arnaud
Sea lake by 45
Saints have had a good start but against two lower sides. Sea lake have had 2 good wins and a midfield of Wade Donnan Boyd Bailey and Thomas cox will be very hard to beat. Can’t see anyone from the saints being able to play on Cahoon. He will kick 7
Donald v Charlton
Donald by 90
Charlton are 3 steps down from the comp I reckon. Donald have a few handy recruits in baker kuma and guljas. Charlton haven’t got much. The only thing they will win is the ruck taps. Pala Kuma (if playing) will have 40
Calder v boort
Calder by 65
Calder will be looking to have a big win here. Think their side will improve after the break with a few ins. Boort have a few handy recruits but I don’t think they have the depth to compete. Dale Pearce to kick 8

I don’t think the development comp idea really works in bush leaguesI would just scrap the salary cap and spend the money in helping struggling clubs better with becoming semi/pro, which basically what it takes to run a successful club these days.
But I'd also change up the ressies and juniors. Have an under 15s, then 15 and over merge with the ressies and make it a development league, plus make it 15 a side (one less back, forward and midfield). Let's face it, ressies currently feels pointless. Every club is constantly short and it's turned into a "ultimate ressies" hack comp. Turning it into a development league would make it watchable and do wonders for young kids progression wanting to get into senior footy.
Yep. It’s basically 16 yr olds have to play ressies. Teams will still have ultimates play. Will just mean 16-17 yr olds will leave the club to go get another couple years of jnrsI don’t think the development comp idea really works in bush leagues
