Casey Sibasado!! *crosses fingers*

Would be risky here, as there is still alot of talent around the place and he is very much a high risk/high potential player.
yeah i wanted him too

any chance we will pick him up and put him on our rookie list?

Played small defender for Vic met, but Crows will look to make him onballer. Tough, fearless, and has a habit of winnig the ball at ground level. Brings other into the game. Great pick. Beat Yarren playing BP easily. Don't know about senior footy next year, but senior SANFL definitely.

:eek:Surprised he looked this good. Was thinking he might be a softish outside runner but he's good in close and has a knck of weaving his way out of trouble. Looks composed, great kick. Definately more than a tagger. Onballer.

A.F.C be very very happy with this selection. Dont be fooled by his golden locks this kid is a true hard nut and a natural footballer. Never like losing a contest, will go all day, will be a 10 year player guaranteed. His work ethic will be what will get him to make it in the end. The hardest working Junior played i have seen for a very long time.

Here's the one on winning the 2008 TAC Coaches Award

Sloane claims 2008 TAC Coaches Award

By Travis Parnaby

TAC Team of the Year member and Eastern Ranges captain Rory Sloane has capped a magnificent year by taking home the 2008 TAC Coaches Award.

Sloane, a versatile half-forward and midfielder, won with 30 votes ahead of North Ballarat Rebels defender Andrew Hooper on 27 votes.

Sloane's coach Shane Watson heaped praise on his charge when he delivered a snapshot of his excellent year.

“His first few games before the national carnival was on, I’d say he was more a solid player Sloaney than anything else before he got himself in the Vic Metro squad," Watson reflected.

“With us he played midfield and forward and David Dickson thought he’d be pretty useful down back.

“Over the carnival he was one of the better players for Vic Metro playing on some really big names from WA and the like.

“When he got back from the carnival, he had a spring in his step and I guess the reason why I voted for Sloaney so much, was his ability to have an impact on a game – whether it be his leadership or the way he went about it in and under, going forward kicking goals. He leads both on and off the field and set’s a great example for everybody else.”

Last year Matthew Kreuzer took home the TAC Coaches Award, one that serves as a point of difference but no less distinguished to the Morrish medal.

“It’s a very prestigious award, it’s one that’s highly regarded,” Vic Country coach Robert Hyde said.

“This comes from the people that give specific tasks and jobs to players and value them as members of the team.”

Sloane was indeed chuffed and said he enjoyed greatly his time at Eastern.

“Thank you to all the coaches. It’s been a great year and over my three years it’s been a really enjoyable time," Sloane said.

"Shane Watson as coach… and Ian Flack, region manager they have really helped me."

Quite a few people within minutes of Sloane being drafted have referred to him as a tagger. I admit I don't know much about him but has he played a tagging role much in the TAC Cup? I wouldn't be against him being a tagger (especially since Shirley isn't getting any younger and we have no replacement!) but I'm wondering why he was thought of that way right off the bat.

For me he looks like he can be more than a tagger. Very good in heavy traffic, somehow plucks the ball then finds a way to get out of traffic. I'd be disappointed if he was just pigeon-holed- he looks like he can be a pretty good attacking midfielder- he's got a great kick.

maybe because no one knows who on our current list will be our next tagger once Shirley is gone (could be end of 2009 or 2010)...
from the footage i've seen, he looks like he can be more than just a tagger though...

Interesting that Matty Rendell said that Sloane was the player that would have been the next chosen by the Crows in the 2007 draft. He seemed really chuffed when talking about Sloane. A 6' aggressive midfielder with real leadership qualities.
