great efforts Carlton D, Dogwarna & Hornets Nest. All perfect scores. Norwest timely late change unlike yours truly.
Performances of the week: NT Thunder, & Hornets must have broken some Tier 2 percentage records on the weekend, well done to both.
Sorry LAB1, didn't know you were tallying too.

Ridiculous comment and one based on absolutely no factual basis. I have personal knowledge that Aspley are the most educated club in the NEAFL as regards ASADA.
All great replies guys, thebigissue that rubbish can stay on Scandals & Rumours, not wanted here.

Looks like the "cross conference" rivalry (even though there aren't conferences!) will go beyond the games to the tipping.

I'll take the full five for the round thanks!! :D:thumbsu: So will a one or two of my northern colleagues.
I think you're right Hornet - the interstate games might be crap but the tipping and banter is going to be fun !

Well very disappointing showing from my boys. Aspley are a level above where we're at. Definitely a shame to come in to round one so under manned for such a big clash. Although even adding a few star players back in to the side wouldn't have resulted in a win it would have evened up the contest a bit. No doubt some heavy work on the track this week and it will be interesting to see how they come out for this weekends match with a fresh Eastlake.
ABH my comment regarding the selected side which resulted in me (luckily) changing my tip was about the injury list. Hard to believe a club would be missing a number of top level players for round one. From what I have heard a few of them are still recovering from various operations and a couple from injuries.
Like I said, still obviously well off the mark from where Aspley is.

Tips:
GC
Redland
Uni
Southport
Aspley
Giants
Eastlake

Can't be too much worse than last weeks tips...

At the risk of being seen to blow trumpets too early, you Canberrians need to get along to QB over the ANZAC Day weekend to see M. Payne in action. I'm not gloating already about a win down there, don't get me wrong. The guy is an incredible talent and worth the trip on a Saturday to watch regardless of the result.

I think John Blair is tickled pink to be coaching him rather than coaching against him for a change!
I assume you are talking about number 19 ,but who is number 6 and where is he from

No Vicman, they're the rucks. Number 6 is Pettitt. A local boy from Sandgate. Natty Payne is an on baller. Number 8. Grogan medallist.

For the benefit of us NEAFL fans, who is Sam Canavan and where has he come from ?

The first edition of NEAFL TV is ok and looks professional. As it finds its mojo, I hope they will do a bit of reporter work to cover the big stories and interview key players, instead of just joining little snippets of play by music and score summaries.
But, hey, we've got something and we should be pleased about that.

Having a laugh today with some guys:Q Are any of the players that headline the NEAFL website actually playing in the NEAFL in 2014? and somebody forgot to tell Labrador they were still in, will come as shock to the Tigers.

Should be an interesting week this week hopefully with all teams playing and a couple of cross conference games. My tips:
Southport
Gold Coast
Ainslie
Sydney Uni
NT
UWS
Eastlake

In breaking news....Tigers v Syd Uni has been called off due to closure of all grounds down here (and no, it's not 1 April).

Earlier this week I checked the rain gauge and it showed we'd had 50mm over the previous week. After a couple of dry days that allowed the local council a window to mow the oval and do the linemarking, the heavens opened again last night. This morning the gauge is now up over 80mm, meaning 30+mm overnight, and there's no end in sight! (anyone got Noah's phone number?)

Dairy Farmers Park was already pretty heavy going last night at training, so it would be unplayable with another 30+mm.

Haven't heard anything about the other games down here at Kippax (Belco) and Ainslie, but would assume they are off too.

I'm sure we'll hear more.
