Yes, Tom Young has returned to Melbourne .

Trent Stubbs is back in town . He has returned to East Coast Eagles in the Sydney premier division comp. They were previously in the NEAFL and he played for them then and afterwards .

Nothing specific on names to share but apparently at least 3 or 4 are training in the group now. Good depth coming in for Uni with those kids and hopefully Jack Hiscox returning to the fold too. Tommy Young pretty irreplaceable though as a special player.

Midway through the season, he had the world at his fingertips, getting a regular gig in the ones, and the Swans were talking with him about extending his contract.
But it all went wrong didn't it. Held out for more money, hawked himself around the Melbourne clubs, reckoned he wanted to go back to Victoria. But no-one wanted him so his bravado got him nowhere, so now he's still stuck in Sydney with nothing other than (apparently) a gig with Uni where he'll earn petrol money but won't improve his career chances.
Swans have a "no-dickhead" policy which saw the end of BBBazza, Andreas Everett. And keeps certain champion NEAFL players in the Swans Reserves and out of the ones.

I think Ally might be right...a complete dickhead.

Demons on 3 week break...apparently the mood is good with Klemke and Harpers "no nonsense" approach being well received by the group. Only a couple of soft tissue injuries at this stage. Not ideal I know but better than shoulder/ankle/knee etc.
Definite emphasis on defence.....no surprises there I guess!
As I"ve said earlier Josh Bennett will really straighten Dees up. I look forward to seeing him and Bruce working together.
Reckon Dees are short a ruckman. I dont know who'll go in there if Milne struggles.
List has turned over 19 spots from last year!
Tutt (ex Ainslie/Carlton/Bulldogs) has said no to returning to Canberra. Staying in the VFL.

relieved to see Nick Salter coaching West Syd Magpies in SydAFL 2017.......i was dreading him lining up for Uni!!
Dan OConnell and Brandon Lagana from Demons are also playing for Magpies....3 good pickups for the Sydney local comp

"Sydney University has also signed six of Sydney’s NEAFL Development Squad players from last year, including Rising Star nominees Matt Wilson and Ned Reinhard, and Swans’ NEAFL Grand Final players Darcy Baron-Hay, Ryan Hebron, and Nathan Cooper."

If this is confirmed, this will be a huge pick up. He kicked 40+ goals in the VFL only a few seasons ago after being delisted by the Kangaroos

Speaking of Warren, does anybody know where his fellow Kangaroo and QLDer Gavin Urquhart is playing these days if at all?

Played with Warren at Pascoe Vale in 2016 in the EDFL I think.

i think you'll find he was signed before last season was finished. ryan thomson has come back with him.
 
See Southport have recruited some very good players ,,, 2 from the WAFL, 2 from the VFL,, Baxter from Labrador ans 2 others...
Major losses are Burge, Screech and Sully ...

I see on the NEAFL website that Ben Warren has signed with Aspley with the hope of snaring a flag while he can.
What do you reckon..? Does Aspley have a snowflakes chance in hell of beating Swans or Giants ? Perhaps I'm just sceptic but it seems that the best NEAFL teams are playing for a different prize from the rest.
Professional footballers with state of the art opportunities playing against mostly-amateurs who train three times a week juggling that with their other lives.
It's a handicap comp biased towards the ammo's but they haven't really been up there lately since the Swans and Giants have been leaping forwards.
Am l just a naysayer ..?
But hey, l still love watching the best second level footy available, even if l know how it will end.
 
On an unrelated matter. .....of all the places l visit on my Android phone, this Big Footy is the only place where l get pop-up ads.
Any ideas on how to stop them..?
