Many of us were so full of praise for the young man after a stellar start this season. Deservedly so.
Such a shame he’s dropped off the cliff in the last month at least.
Come back beast mode Ned, come back.

If he gets selected, it's a 9 day break. And then there's a bye after Melbourne. He'll get months of rest beginning in October.Clearly looks tired, the guys like him who have had to work harder with the mid season injuries and resting period.
He needs a rest, should’ve been rested instead of the sub, had to play a whole game with Howe’s concussion.
He is in the under 22 squad with ND - that’s very impressive recognition of his abilities.I just cant see it with Long. Panics when he gets the ball and disposes of it blindly to no one. Even when he has time with a set shot at goal, he is more likely to kick it out of bounds on the full than register a score.
Only thing he is good at is tackling, but that is no use when he doesn't do anything else well. Had two or so decent games earlier this year but has been shocking most of the last 6 weeks, yet is still picked to play. Selectors definitely not going the horses for course route with him.
That’s all fantastic but he’s still not performing for us currentlyHe is in the under 22 squad with ND - that’s very impressive recognition of his abilities.

Wow, you’re telling us that one of the best players in the comp outplayed Long? What else?Go back and watch Kysaiah Pickett v Ned Long, rd 13, 2025, hilarious!...Kysaiah looks like he's at training practicing clearances and tackling isn't allowed.
Ash Centra has 10x better skills than Ned!
This is two very stupid comments in the span of 24 hours. Do you do this a lot?Go back and watch Kysaiah Pickett v Ned Long, rd 13, 2025, hilarious!...Kysaiah looks like he's at training practicing clearances and tackling isn't allowed.

He's heading down the same career path as Mark McGough. He had 2/3 exceptional games not decent games. The past 2 months though has been utterly shocking. Not winning the ball on the inside and on the outside he’s very very poor
We smashed them in the clearances tonight; Long was the least of our worries.
His contested work was good, and he gave us a lot of first looks despite some of the mistakes in tough conditions.
If we can get our running game going, and maintain last night's contested output, we'll do alright.
No point getting the clearance in congestion if you are going to just turn it over in much more dangerous open space like Ned.
He is a VFL level player and we were seduced by a few decent games earlier in the season. The majority of his games have been woeful. Last night should have been the chance to try something different eg Perryman or Josh, but alas Fly seems too scared to make the big changes.
