That non hand pass to Lipinski half way through the 2nd qtr 25m out directly in front of goal was a horrendous mistake, he preferred the check side off his foot while under pressure. That goal would have been crucial for us at the time. Basic errors are hard to stomach

As someone said before, he hand passes when he should kick, and kicks when he should hand-pass. Never question his effort, but not good enough to be a permanent mid in our side

That was why Hawks De-Listed him

He's like a wild stallion atm. He'll be more composed next year and beyond

For many AFL players, composure comes with experience. I like Ned and have to keep reminding myself he is still a long way short of the magic 50 games.

While there are other better midfielders around his age, they were either higher picks and/or have more experience.

The coaches keep giving him games - more so than Macrae or Allan. He’s been in the side since round 0, albeit as sub. Then there’s the fact he was selected in the under 22 squad.

All this means something.

He'll be fine. It's his first full season. I think we've had to change up his roles due to the constant injuries we've had.

Ned won't be fine, Ned has terrible skills and he's nearly 23, that's 5/6 years in the system. Ned doesn't have AFL skills and never will!

Composure and skills are two words that will never be used to describe Neds' skill set! Posters are dreaming if you think there will be significant improvement now!

Shame the club missed out on Matt Rowell!

Yet if he was up for trade, you’d struggle to find a single suitor, maybe North might be desperate enough to part with pick 90

Credit needs to be given to Ned for that goal in the last qtr. I thought it really lifted the team.

To be followed up by goals to Shoota & Dan, it was great to see 3 of the players who cop a lot of flak to be the ones responsible for those goals when we really needed them.
Not enough love for Ned here IMO. He'll be much better next season with an even bigger body and what he has learnt this year.

We are starting to see or have seen the flaws in his game. A good start would be to take the first option when it comes to disposal.

And keep up the tackle numbers.

Hopefully the week off freshens him up.

CFC has played 5 top eight teams gunning for finals in the past 8 weeks and Ned has looked overwhelmed like he's has on vacation...What is going to change come finals!

Ps. I hope I'm wrong.

his work around the ground last night was ok

his work in and around stopage may be another matter - but he wasnt alone letting melb dictate terms in this area from mid way through the first through to the end of the 3rd

That goal he kicked in the last quarter should help his confidence.
He, like Ed Allan, has tended to hold back, and defer to team mates.
He's taken a big step this year, and should continue to build in the future.
We need him to go to the next level.

All the stats his supporters tried to pump him up with when his form slump had started were still missing last night.

It’s hard to see what exactly is his value? Now JDG is fit, we’ve got our big bodied midfielder who’ll get clearances and score involvements. Plus his kicks actually hit targets.
