Yer got the arse from my job last week. Still dont know what i should do. If i did tell the ATO what would happen to him? And would anything happen to me, ie having to appear in court or something along those lines.

If you tell the ATO they will more than likely give you amnesty against any non-payment of tax, they may need you in court but I doubt it (the ATO normally manage to frighten submission out of employers before needing to go to court i.e freezing of assets etc.)

I worked 8hrs a week at 10 dollars and hr, (i worked at other places, so it wasn't my main source of income)

Surly you dont have to pay tax on $80 per week???

If you are working multiple jobs, you actually do need to pay PAYG (pay as you go) tax. While if you're a low income earner, you will recieve most/all of it back anyway, you still are legally obliged to pay it.

I'd let it go. Unless you really, really want to get back at him, the possibility of having to provide witness statements and potentially appear in court simply isn't worth your time!

If you entered into that arragement knowing what you were getting into then deal with it on those terms. (If you have been shafted pay, then consider taken it further).

I remember going for a P/T time job once, I got the job and he started telling me that my wage was the net amount after tax, and there was no play slip. I knew he was doing some dodgy tax stuff, so the next day I told him I had to quit.

You work in a kitchen. Lots of fun can be had.

Call up the local Council’s EnvironmentalHealth Officers and complain about the kitchen being dirty.
Then bring in a cage of rats and box of cockroaches and sprinkle rat's poo everywhere. :thumbsu:
