Came into the thread hoping to see one or two names; nope, 15 players.
Forevermelbourne :(

Interesting write-up. Feel very nervous about the last four names on the list, don't know if we'll see them this year, let alone next. Tapscott interesting too, played alright in his first year, kind of stalled since.

Strangely, out of all those named, I feel most confident about Dunn's ability to have a consistent 2013. Now watch him implode.

Lynden Dunn for All Australian 2013!!

I agree with your list and your assessments HFF, but I think it should be longer. IMO, there are very few players on the entire list that are at an acceptable level, relative to each of thier own sets of circumstances. That is, there are very few who don't need to lift, IMO.

Trengove, Jamar and Spencer were all considered, but ultimately felt as though they've pulled their weight enough. Anyone will be eligible for the list when the season starts.

Trengove is a glaring omission from that list.
Comrade Rhaz - you are right on the money.

If he is injury free, Trengove needs to deliver big time, otherwise he is another Barry P special.

I agree that the list should be long and thorough. This week provides the first opportunity for many to get their names off it.

Suggestion for future weeks - include brackets after each name with the number of weeks in the list. Eg Davey (4 weeks)

After many seconds of deliberation, the NTL panel confirms that this will certainly be in place

I was worried with the amount of one on one contests trenners lost last year , if you watch the essendon game as an example you can see that he wasn't winning those small battles that seperate the elite from the average ( see Watson in the game as an example )

Trenners really does need to start to look like an elite midfielder soon or the scully trengrove combo could end up being the worst 1-2 punch in history

Am I saying he can't become a gun , absolutely not .. Just that he is under pressure for sure .. And I'm not sure the captaincy helped

Praying he isn't Brock McLean mk2

Fair to say I can't believe the amount I pressure we are collectively heaping on Trengove.
Last year:
1) was his third AFL season
2) he was named captain aged 20 with a leadership vacuum around him
3) the team won 4 games
4) he struggled all year with OP or something of the sort

Jack is all class, and he would be putting himself under plenty of pressure to improve without needing us to give him an extra kick.

Give him a chance FFS. To say that he will be a failure if he doesn't lift this year is just ridiculous hyperbole.

Agreed, but he certainly needs to lift all the same.

Agreed, but he certainly needs to left all the same.

I reckon he just needs to "right".... ;)

The pressure on Trengove is a touch harsh and he deserves a season with no injuries to he can get himself going. I don't see it being this year though, will take him weeks to get going.

The whole list except Nathan Jones Mitch Clark & the new recruits need to lift.
Another year of no development could spell the end of quite a few careers.
Another year of no development will spell the end of multiple careers.
