Distinctly recall a Melbourne supporting mate trying to convince me when Neeld was appointed that they had secured the better coach that off-season. McCartney wasn’t great but Neeld is arguably the worst coaching appointment in several decades.

Ridicolous that the line coaches didn't have a say in cominucating with players and input in game tatics so much so that they had to pass the message to players in sceret.

Neeld probably a good football person- might be better suited to football administration after his various experiences.
