Cmon MaddAdam, you know how the EFCC (Essendon Football Coterie Club) works better than anyone.

What "Essendon" people can do and get away with internally is completely different to the account "Outsiders" are held to internally.

This club needs a MASSIVE mirror and enema. Kinda like my club needed after 2015.

It's called "HeadUpArse" syndrome.

Neeld sacked. Dodoro retained and promoted.

Does anyone see what else these 3 clubs have had in common over the last 6-7 years .... answer Neil Craig ! who was instrumental in Neeld joining the bombers . Wanna blame someone , look no further .

Ridicolous that the line coaches didn't have a say in cominucating with players and input in game tatics so much so that they had to pass the message to players in sceret.

No wonder the players looks confused and lifeless glad his gone.

This is the bit I don't get

Players didn't like him because of this. Wouldn't this policy be a Worsfold one?

If yes, he's been thrown under the bus to appease the players

If no, what senior coach in their right mind let's an assistant decide whom is allowed to discuss GameDay tactics with whom

Yet their captain had one tackle for an entire game of football and is given a pass lol, courageous footballer that bloke.

Play the aww-shucks knockabout country kid, earn a free pass from the media.

Neeld took over Melbourne at their lowest.

Watson took over StKilda 2 years after a Grand Final. The 10 wins certainly weren't because of Tim's coaching talents.

The 2 wins in his second and final year were more illustrative of his talents.

In fairness to all i hereby declare a tie between Neeldy and Tim.
wrong. won 9 & 1/2 games the year before.

Neeld took us to our darkest place and destroyed all bar Nathan Jones career

Feels like a Scapegoat.
Been at Essendon since the end of 2014. Essendon had a good season 2017, but 8 games in to 2018 and Neeld is given the flick?

It sounds like a ridiculous setup & they can sack who they like but the buck has to stop with the head coach. It's been bugging me since I read that article to think how disenfranchised the assistant coaches must have been feeling at times & wtf would the players have made of all of it??

I'm with Robert Shaw on this

With old m8 Neeldy gone Essendon should now be successful...afterall Neeldy in three or so years at the Bombers has been the one consistent factor in Essendon's failure to win a final in the last fourteen years. Right?

Certainly wouldn't be looking at Adrian 'nothing to see here' Dodoro...Francis and Parish ahead of Curnow...lol

Neeld took over Melbourne at their lowest
... and then selected a pair of captains with less than 40 games experience each, traded in spuds like Shannon Byrne & David Rohan, alienated the entire playing group and successfully dragged Melbourne from it's lowest point to another point so low the AFL intervened and paid for a new coach.
Both horrendous coaches.

Pretty sure he was highly rated while he was at Collingwood.
Scape goat IMO as it would be massive to turf a coach after re-signing him so someone had to go

but the buck has to stop with the head coach.

Essendon dispended with that principle a few years ago.

Like, literally.

They gave the head coach a paid year off rather than have him face the music.

If I was an Essendon supporter I'd want to hear from Worsfold about Neeld's responsibilities and how he plans to fill them.

According to the club it's a "restructure" of the coaching panel and that Neeld's position won't be filled.

With Woosha's daft 2 year contract extension in mind, the next best thing is to get a senior assistant to fall on his sword to keep the wolves at bay, in an attempt to placate the fans somewhat.
