Agree with this, Daniher be great in that role for us but may see it as a backwards step.

Given the dead-pan personalities that our coaches presently portray, i wonder if the Crowbot style (which has taken good aspects to negative extremes) could be modified by adding a person with flair and footy nous (? AN Jarman who may be ready for a change if the Roosters fulfill the his current mission this weekend)

This isn't new i am sure (have not read all previous ~19 pages) but to me victory requires good planning, structure and preparation BUT also requires the other side of the coin on the day (footy smarts, creative moves, a plan B!). Surely our premierships are proof that both these aspects are required.

The major issue i see is that NC is very autocratic on match-days (going by his press conferences). That's fine IF you are good in that area...he is not but i see no signs he recognises that or would be will to listen.
You guys don't need Daniher, Daniher was a good coach in many ways but his gameplan was naive and one dimensional. As far as a midfiled coach goes people say he is a whiz but I am not so sure. He didn't improve many of our players technically and on gameday he was not so smart. Daniher's strength was that he was well respected by his players. Neil Craig is a good coach and you guys were stiff not to win it last year with all the injuries you had. Stick with him.

Crows juggle deputy roles

ADELAIDE is searching for at least one new assistant coach to fill two roles - match-day midfield analysis and player development.

Adelaide football operations manager John Reid revealed this at an awards function at the National Wine Centre on Wednesday night while saying the Crows were happy with the mix they have in coach Neil Craig's match-day box.

This declaration comes after critical analysis - outside the club - of Craig's match-day coaching, in particular in the AFL elimination final loss to Hawthorn at the Dome last month.

But it seems Adelaide will revert back to its 2006 coaching structure by making these moves:

PAUL HAMILTON returning to coaching Adelaide's defence. He worked the midfield this year.

PETER JONAS moving out of the coach's box to take on player development. He worked the defence this year.

DAVID NOBLE remaining forwards coach.

FINDING a new midfield coach. This role was filled by West Coast premiership player Don Pyke before he quit the Crows to return to Perth - where he is working with Fremantle - at the end of the 2006 campaign.

While Adelaide, in particular Craig, have repeatedly denied Jonas wants to leave the coach's box to work on player development, this adjustment remains strongly tipped by Crows insiders.

Reid flagged Adelaide's move into the coaches market at the count for Radio FIVEaa's Max Basheer Medal.

I'm all for a player development coach - especially someone with experience with key forwards. Everyone agrees we need to fast track the development of the forwards so a PD coach has got to happen.

God Rooch is all froth and bubbles. "This adjustment remains strongly tippped." In other words, all speculation!

It's not like he is the only one speculating this issue.

Not an unreasonable article IMO.
