spoke to a melbourne person (extremely high up)

I said what the story with craig , you guys are really after him

answer was yes for sure , then i said you might have your work cut out getting him away from the tigers.

Answer to that was, we will be doing everything in our power to get him to melbourne.

If anybody doubts my source, happy to pm a MOD.

I don’t for one minute doubt you’re source, but unless you’re a relative, business partner or best mate and are willing to betray his trust, I doubt for one minute a high ranking official would divulge sensitive information unless he was just spinning a yarn or just telling you what you want to hear.

How is this information any different to what we are already being told? :confused:

let me just say that i know this person very well and we constantly talk football everytime we see eachother.

Constant banter about which team will make the 8 7 have a better list etc etc.

Unless i am mistaken there was question marks about if melbourne would still want craig after their recent appointments.

My comments are just to confirm that melbourne are still after craig & are very determined to do all they can to get him there.

Caro on 3aw said it was down to Melbourne and Richmond With Craig having met Hardwick for a second time this week She said the role would be more in line of an senior assistants role, where as the Melbourne role is what has already been reported ,
Said a decision either way would be known next week

Why would he go to Melbourne honestly? The club is completely unstable, whilst Richmond is moulding itself into an elite business Melbourne is still grassroots footy.

No brainer for me, I'd be more worried if it was Carlton, but Melbourne is pfft.

Melbourne is assembling a very good coaching/assistant list, off loaded the cancer in Connolly and regardless of how we feel they have a very good young list. They struck gold in getting rid of the overrated Scully and a bonus two first rounders. Why wouldn’t he look at them? We are in the same boat so it will be neck and neck.

Our inability to secure big names makes me feel we will lose out on this.

Did you hear they " picked up " Brian Royal ?

But that's our big attraction as well. We've been bad for so long, that that's the appeal, if you can turn the Tiger ship around.

I hope that any contact Dimma has had at coaches Ass'tion meetings has made a significant enough impression as well as all the other stuff at RFC. Go Tiges

Who knows how these things get decided, could be money or how good the coffee tastes.

Regardless, we are a much more attractive prospect for assistant coaches these days, and our days of accepting the Brian Royals of the world are over. This is a good thing, means even if we miss on Craig, I'm confident we will be in there for the best of the remaining talent available.

Does not really say to much lol. I have a feeling he wont pick us for whatever reason mmm. Hope i am wrong and hopefully Hardwick gets him over the line :)

Very interesting situation "about to unfold" with Neil Craig;

Yes Brisbane ,Melbourne, Richmond & maybe now Carlton interested, forget WCoast.

1. Melbourne as a club is not travelling or been run well. *This will be on the forefront of NC mind. Not sure the position they are offering NC suits either? 5/10.
2. Brisbane, well not sure he really wants to go to Brisbane; Word is he prefers Victoria; 3/10.
3. Richmond now (finally, thanks to Brendan Gale) is run well, has raised its image, address finances, has the best facilities in the AFL (possible the world), a great list. *It was mentioned our presentation was superb; 7/10.
4.KB announced that Carltank would outbid anyone , in a bid to get thier man. Not sure if it was gamesmanship or not however Swan (on SEN) yesterday said they did not require a "person" to overlook thier coaching;
Hmmmm, we are talking Carlton... I do not think anyone believes anything that comes out of a Carltank MOUTH.. 6/10.

I have mentioned on thir forum before; I honestly believe the following has occured:

Neil Craig has given Richmond asurance , may have even signed however;

To get the best press coverage, great exposure, this appointment will be made several days after the GF. By an announcement been made now, it will all be washed up with the brownlow & GF.

*This will also be looked at as a flatform to get (marketing) membership's up & runing for the season 2012...

Richmond is making no sound, but all the right & calculated moves!
Beware the Tiger in the knee high grass.:thumbsu:
