Given that the media was all over the lyon and harvey issue, we have to take it as gospel that craig is going to melb....

Well the missus got a good time on false pretences. And yes i faked it. Given the recent events, it would seem strange Eade would have signed up as a director when there's 4 gig's up for grabs. There's a lot of water to go under the bridge now with getting Craig. What seemed simple, has got very complicated, very quick.

When I turned off the computer last night I was little pissed off that we missed out on Craig. This has made my morning better. If he has been ruled out for that position and Burns is favourite for the Crows job (which means he won't be senior assistant there) then he would be favourite to come to us.

However the age said today that he is not going to Melbourne. Whom should we trust. I question how much the age or the heraldsun know.

That is an interesting question. There is an argument for both. Normally I would put the Age slightly ahead to the Herald Sun on who to believe about sport ( Never believe the HS regarding anything else).

The Herald Sun may have had the same reaction as I did and natually assumed that Melbourne must have an former experienced coach as a coaching director for them to sign an untried coach, and reported it just on that. I don't think the Age would have mentioned that Graig has been ruled out unless they have reason to.

At least that what I'm hoping the case to be.

I can't help but think that Craig would have watched us beat the Crows in r23 and noticed we are decent and getting better

We are the bigger club, our presentation was first class and we have chased him for some time

We are big into plans right now at Punt Road. Melbourne just sacked a coach and is almost starting again

The Jimmy Stynes factor cannot be dismissed, and that would be understandable, but I'm backing us in

The Sun article was more the reiteration of rumour, but the age was fairly unequivocal. Pierik was the first mentioned so it's not solely a Caro prediction, which would have more weight.

I think we're still on the dancefloor

between us and lions

If that is the case, then I reckon we'd win

Home of football, heart of the city, MCG, lots of pain already endured, quality youngsters (cf Brown and Black on their last legs), increasingly positive balance sheet, big 4 club. If he chooses Lions over us, we didn't want him

I reckon taking a job in the AFL heartland at one of the iconic clubs would have a fair amount of appeal in a professional sense, seeing he has come from an interstate club already. if it were 3 years ago, we'd be no chance, but from the facilities to the people we have in charge, alot has changed

It could come down to his preference for what he wants where he lives. Brizzy is good for the small town vibe and access to the sunshine coast but not much else IMHO. Summer up there sucks if you don't like humidity though. Melbourne is great for the culture and spread of things to see and do, but then there's the winter. If the salary's on offer are similar it could come down to that.

HAving said that though, surely the Tigers are in the box seat as far as the current status of the club and team.

Adelaide and Brisbane have very similar people in regards to populations....could be a factor
I think Dimma and your list would have huge appeal to him - the idea of working with a good young coach and being a key figure in building something; turning your young guns from talented youths to hardened, professional footballers and being able to see the fruits of his work, strikes me as something he'd appreciate.

Who knows though, things are all over the shop at the moment. The w***ers at Freo have thrown a massive spanner in the works, all over the shop.

I wanted the Crows to get Neeld, but I suspect we've already locked Burns down; Burns/Craig also have history - if Craigy was going to stay at the Crows, I think Burns would be the only Coach he'd do it under.

PS - $10 on Hot Shoe Shufflin' ftw ;)

easy, big spender. All care,no responsibility ok?

$200k buy, first Australian start, owners reckon it's a cert. Yeah, heard that before but hoping for $7+.

Might SMS Craigy to ensure he's on board.

I guess we just need to wait for the Melbourne announcement

keep ya $$$ in the wallet UG, NZ form reads like knocking up a WIN against Gold Coast...watch the filly from Adelaide, Peronne lady:thumbsu:

Neeld to be announced by the Dees at midday, You'd think if Craig was senior assistant they would announce his involvement then as well.
