There is absolutely no way in 2025 two professional sporting organisations would have an embargo on dealing with each other.

Both clubs would entertain any discussion that they think could improve the performance of their clubs, otherwise it’s pure negligence as a member based organisation.

It's more that neither team would ever go after each other's stars, just the fringes and then by that point... what's the point.

Had a taste now - he'd look around and say I'm likely ahead of Noddy & Sharp - Fyfe is retiring, JOM maybe pushing last season next year.

He'll see a spot in a finals bound team ....good for both

A recently retired West Coast player told me during the Nesbitt era that the embrago was real (at least from West Coast's perspective), and it's the reason why West Coast tried to make it difficult for Jayme Graham to head to Freo. Apparently West Coast don't want Freo to be an option for players leaving so essentially if players leave, they need to move interstate. Not sure if it's changed under the new regime

I wonder if it bothered them that Longmuir was assistant coach at West Coast for so long.
