Chris Connolly talks to Josh Carr for 2 years and I bet you'd call that 'good recruiting nous'. Mark Williams does the same thing and you call it sheer arrogance and w*nker like behaviour. At least Mark had the decency to do it during trade week. Maybe if we had been in Schammers ear for the past two years he would have come back as well. Every coach/assistant coach/recruiter would be talking to certain players all the time. Its the way it is.

Try your own West Australian newspapers for a start as your source and they quoted Connelly on Television, Australia wide. Even I heard it over here in Sydney.

As to what Williams said to Schammer I didn't realise bugging was legal? And I suppose you heard every word Williams said to Schammer - how do you know what he said and the context of the conversation? Oh I forgot you have ESP, so you could telepathically hear the conversation word for word?

The jist of the conversation (as reported) was that he had convinced Josh to come back (hence he was talking to Josh in the leadup to Ports GF - while the season was still running)

I'm not overly fussed, especially when you consider that CC has been in his own words "...talking to Josh..." for 2 years.

Anyone ever think that "talking to Josh for 2 years" might mean a phone call each October for 2 years, not monthly chats? It could also be having Matt relay some information about whether he's thinking of returning. I don't think any trade/contract rules can prevent brothers talking about anything, and I don't think the concept of sibling privilege is well established!

I think it's great that Choco acts in the way he does in relation to trading (remember the comments after Pav re-signed the other year?) It just makes it less and less likely that they'd ever WANT to return to SA like Carr/Stenglein have this year... now we just need some dirt on Neil "who" Craig.
