New Ads making site unusable

This is what's popping up as downloads for me too. If you have multiple tabs open, they occur for each tab, and then they come up again about every five minutes you stay on the page. It seems to happen when the ads appear and when they refresh.

I'm only getting them on Firefox mate - don't need to be logged in either.

Haven't had any on Chrome or IE as yet, albeit very small sample size, time wise.

I don't use Chrome (if I can help it) or Edge, but I think some of those other screenshots from another member may have been using MS Edge.

It took around 7 minutes to load 17 tabs. Arguably the slowest it's ever been.

That is a lot of tabs...

But yes I have been passing on the messages and pointing our ad people to this thread.

It's never been an issue before. At most in the past it might have been 90 seconds.

I sometimes get this popping up when I'm on BigFooty, Chief. Happened a few months ago, then nothing, then twice today. Was on the punting forum and this McAfee thing popped up:

I think the message is the same one as I got a few months ago: "your computer might currently be under virus threat".

I'm getting this. It either makes it so you can't go back to the previous page you were on so you have to close the tab, or you go 3 pages back.


It then has a pop-up saying "Now running anti-virus. Click to cancel".

I have now blocked the site seeing as it's the same host website, but still scary.

On mobile and this is same as me, don’t mind ads it’s a free website after all but these are so intrusive and such high frequency. Makes me never want to buy an Acer.

Yep! Never had any issues with many of the ads. But these big whole page pop ups on mobile are nearly making it unusable.

Wasn’t an issue yesterday when I was online.

Yep. This Acer advert is making the site completely unusable.

Pop ups taking up the entire screen on mobile with a timer preventing closure are not on.

Looks malicious - I have run scans but seems it only happens when on Bigfooty , so I am spending far less time on here currently.
