New Ads making site unusable

These new giant ads apart from being very annoying, are making the site unusable.

When I click a thread and get one of these it seems to break the go to newest unread functionality and instead takes me to the most recent post in the thread. I'm just going to use an a d blo cker or something if these don't stop and stop very soon.

BTW, cringe filter.

also I can only get rid of the ad (on desktop) by refreshing the page
though at least I am not getting the jump to last post component.

Yes that is definitely an issue with some sorts of links. I think they'll be removed or very rare soon.

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Annoyingly, I've also found that sometimes the ad popping up somehow halts videos I have open in other browsers on my second monitor, too. Very disruptive.

Illegal and potentially deadly, especially for someone who has mental health issues and watches the football to feel better

Just remove all the advertising from the site permanently and these issues will stop completely

Does this get rid of all ads? And do you think it's ads causing my current problem?

It's genius marketing really... if the site becomes that unusable - I'm going to end up paying for the membership

Does membership mean I can block that one flog mod that pops up every few months to ban me?

This has been happening for only this month. Most of the time the top one shows up until I put my cursor over it, to which it then disappears for 2 seconds only for the bottom one to show up until I put my cursor over it.

This has been the occurance two-thirds of the time, sometimes it's only one of them or in reverse order but sometimes I manage to get this:


It's only with this ad that this problem happens, it's never on-screen long enough to report it and it's rather annoying.

I know this isn't your fault, Chief. Hopefully there's a reason why it's only this ad.

In the last 48 hours, if I hang around the site, I'm being bombarded with cookie downloads from onetag-sys.com every 5 minutes. It's just the bigfooty site, nowhere else. There is seriously something going wrong here right now.

Can you see what happens if your turn off browser extensions? Does it also happen when you are logged off?

Thanks. I'll do that when it happens again. I've stayed away the last 24 hours because this kind of stuff is spooky.

FWIW I'm using Firefox browser from a PC at home. It seems to pick up a lot that slips through other browsers.
