The logo is over ten years old now. Due for a new.one even if it was not as disliked.

However it really should not be a priority over the new HQ, setting up the SANFL team, and of course the AFLW team.

You would think it would happen within a year or so though. It is quite dated now.

How hard is it to create and implement a new logo?

You hire a design company to come up with some options, you vote on the preferred model and then you get it ready to launch the following year.

Not that hard and not something that would take up much time, other priorities is a poxy excuse. They just didn’t think it was that bad that it needed to be change and they think the logo is unimportant.

You are right.. Probably not deemed that important.

They did develop the WFAO logo though.

The problem is - whenever they poll the supporters about the logo, they get really positive feedback.

Personally, I agree with you. But frustratingly we might be in the minority.

Democracy is awesome.

Just ask the UK after the Brexit vote and the subsequent voting in Parliament to sort it out.

Unless we get Scorpus to run another bot and we take control over the vote.

Personally I don’t think this needs to go to a supporter vote, there are enough people at the club who surely have some taste?

The black Crow they use in We Fly as One and other stuff indicates they know what a decent Crow logo could look like.

It’s a pitty we’ve gone so early on this.

Around 2024 the new children’s hospital will opened by the RAH. Therefore the old building and site will be vacant and the PERFECT place for redevelopment of a multi-use facility. Right by the AO and right by parkland ovals. But I guess we need to seize and oppprtunity when it presents.

I can imagine the old W&C hospital being turned into apartments along the same lines as the old Queen Victoria. The parklands there are currently leased and used by University District Cricket Club

*licensed to the Adelaide University Sports Association.

Subtle, but important difference if anyone had the political will (which they wouldn't).

The Aquatic Centre is a rare opportunity in that it's the only site where you're not going to get significant pushback from the Council (and less pushback from the Parklands Preservation people).

Also it is surrounded by roads. Aquatic centre is attached to the Parklands.

Also Properly run and establish and it could be a Profit making venture or at least cost-free.
ie by adding a specialist medical centre, a separate fitness centre for the public, with a few Footballers wanting to gain Fitness creds for after AFL assisting in running the venture. Making the Swimming centre family friendly, inside and outside.

New logo and new HQ at the same time, you know it's happening

Strange that none of the media bothered to run with the story yesterday, maybe they will wait for the budget or something? Did we try and hide the story on Saturday night (successfully) for some reason.

I doubt we'd get licensed premises on the Park Lands but still an interesting one for the club, would be the perfect family facility, also be good to run a heap of schools through there adding the clubs community programs to existing swimming stuff and reach a lot more kids (future supporters) more efficiently than going to individual schools.

Talk of regenerating the O’Connell Street retail precinct makes me want to know do we keep the same footprint, or does that whole area undergo big changes.

We'd obviously need a lot more building space for indoor training, admin, facilities for the men's and women's teams, maybe the footprint completely changes, making those current oval locations irrelevant, I know there were mockups that showed an MCG and Adelaide Oval just fitting on the land, but they didn't show any expansion to the current buildings.

Now obviously the players and staff need privacy, but I hope they find a way to make the venue feel welcoming and inclusive for members and the public, show glimpses of what's going on behind the scenes, display the 4 premiership cups in a more inviting environment. Right now it's a concrete bunker and I can't think of a reason to visit.

The Aquatic centre site is much larger and provides more space to have the indoor facility right next to 1 or 2 ovals. The W&C site is much smaller and the land would not be flat there either. As mentioned above this will most likely end up as apartments if it ever goes ahead.

I think we did, I think we had to announce it because the budget was due to release this week announcing the funding for women's football and it would have looked bad if the club hadn't announced anything and people first found out about the move from the federal government. I don't think the location of the aquatic center is over the line yet, so they didn't want to make a big splash that will cause locals and port supporters to kick up a stink and put pressure on politicians.

I've got a 9 year old son and he's got this thing called a voice so when I ask him a question he responds (sometimes) with an answer. Funny enough, his mates have also got one as well.

Whose a clever boy?
You, ;)

I’ve also got kids and they don’t.
