is it going to remain Thebarton Oval or are they likely to sell out and make it something stupid like OTR Arena or something just as heinous?
We’d be mad if we didn’t monetise it. No way we forego $ to protect the hallowed ‘Thebarton Oval’.

I drive past there from time to time. Am I correct in observing that the development of South Road there is happening simultaneously?
Are they launching the northern one from that intersection? The third TBM is undergoing factory trials ahead of shipping early next year, so the construction precinct where it will be assembled, housed, and then set off from needs to be ready for it by then.
The parts for the second TBM just arrived, and they'll be moved to Clovelly Park where it and the first TBM will be assembled and housed in that enormous steel frame warehouse being built roughly where the Tonsley Hotel used to be.
All systems go, as they'll be boring the southern and northern tunnels at the same time starting the second half of next year (only one machine for the north, as the tunnels are only half as long so it will be spun around to do both in the same time as each long one is done simultaneously in the south)

I assumed the big shed was for the precast concrete for the tunnel lining? The third TBM is undergoing factory trials ahead of shipping early next year, so the construction precinct where it will be assembled, housed, and then set off from needs to be ready for it by then.

Also where did you get this level of detail?

Actually I reckon I remember someone on one of the Facebook posts saying it will be a spoil storage shed.Good point, also could be both. I only drive past and back one day a fortnight and am usually too busy keeping my distance from peanuts and making sure I don't clip any misplaced cones, I'll see if I can get a better look at some point. Tis a mighty tall warehouse though.
Given Thebarton Oval’s naming rights have been sold, repeatedly, in the past, it hasn’t been protected for some time. We’d be mad if we didn’t monetise it. No way we forego $ to protect the hallowed ‘Thebarton Oval’.
It would be so funny if the club accepted that donation.
You could go get your name legally changed to "Sack Nicks" and then they can't even dispute it.It would be so funny if the club accepted that donation.
$500 for 10 years. I might think about doing it for a friend if I can pay $50 each year ...

Payment
What are my payment options? Can I pay in instalments
You may pay your donation via Mastercard, Visa, AMEX or PayPal.
PayPal offer a 'Pay in 4' option which allows you to pay your donation in four (4) instalments.
Port did the same thing for their ground last year (I suppose the first couple of prices are done in texta.) Their prices were:Let's do the maths on this.
The circumference of the oval is something like 450 meters. Let's say you can get 10 of these each meter. At $500 each, if every pailing had one of these, then we ave:
450x10x500 = $2,250,000
That's... a lot of money. You need 4500 people to want to do this though. I wonder if they'd offer it to businesses as well.
You know...
I've got a picket fence. I'll charge you guys less.

AI says they sold 370 over 20 years ago.
- Members: Your Name | $250
- Non-Members: Your Name | $350
- Premium: Your Name | $500
- Corporate Business: Company Name | $1,500
if you have that kind of money to spare and you choose to do this, your priorities are wrong in life.
Tax deductible gift to your sporting club’s capital project? Pretty common I’d have thought.
probably, i just know i wouldnt do it. maybe my club could gift me some decent governance first.
true, however the AFC is not a club who struggles for coin so what could any money raised in this way go to? How can it be called a donation? this is what I dont truly get. Just say you are buying your name on a picket. Essentially its just a contribution to club profits. I dont have a problem with it, but thats all it is.Definitely not for me either, but there would be a few hundred that see the club in the same way I’d see my local club and be prepared to donate.

To be deductible it would need to meet conditions, so all proceeds will go to the development. That said, ultimately the debt would otherwise be serviced by profits, so end result is as you say. The club isn’t super wealthy, so whatever they raise will ultimately help keep the wages paid.
