So I ask you would you be willing to take a punt on a new direction as the one pointed out above or are you happy with the current direction of no finals in the last 6 years?
Are you happy with the current board and Wallace and Millers performance?
If a new group ran what would you like to see from them?
Finally what sort of President would you want heading the football club?

You are on the money Wally. It is quite clear from the replies to your post that too many people, the Board, supporters and members accept compromise and second best. That is exactly what we got when Casey & Miller contrived to get the current Board elected.
ya bloody boofhead, about the only thing you got right was mentioning CCs name, who forced change and almost single handedly destroyed our club with a reckless approach that lacked governance, vision and any sense whatsoever

Wasnt referring to the on field, just the parts that the Board have direct responsibility for, one of which isnt our on field performance.

So the Board doesn't take responsibility for on field performance?

Explains exactly why we've been in the wilderness for the past 28 years!

The Board's role & responsibility is to deliver results....on and off-field!

Are ypu Hutchy?

The way you have asked the question is rather one sided. "Do we want a new direction or are you happy with the direction of no finals?"

Not all of us are stupid .

Hey PJ reading some of these posts, it sounds like a call for MUTINY, get out the BOUNTIES and clap them all in IRONS....whilst your at it get out the CAT of NINE TAILS

I cannot believe people here feel that the board should not take any responsibility for onfield performance. The board is like any organisation and should take full responsibility for the performance in all areas, good or bad. The board should operate like any organisation where it sets the direction and policy for the management to implement, not for management to be making significant decisions without prior approval.

This would not mean interfering with the week to week coaching but would set policies in terms of recruiting and use of draft picks. For example there could be a ban on trading away draft picks for players in the next two years. Letting management and coaches make significant decisions on recruiting is fraught with danger and a very backward method. They are generally more concerned with their own survival.

How would people feel having Benny Gale as president vs March?
Benny Gale would be the ideal person to lead the club forward....provided he was backed up by a highly competent & experienced Board which included one or two other people with football nouse (eg Paul Broderick).

We need a ticket which is going to bring both board based competency and passion to set a new vision and direction for the club.

The first major change should be to show Greg Miller the door. That would be a key signal that mediocrity and compromise will no longer be tolerated.

We should garner support for a major campaign for change....the change which was rejected four years ago because of the false hopes that Miller promised the club and its long-suffering supporters and members.

You know, most of the surveys of thiings happening around the club on here are positive in favour of the current admin.
A lot of people are pissed off, but there's lots also that are willing to give Wallace the time of day or at least give him the five years.
Probably because they see a direction with him.
Others are not and I guess they're the ones you're trying to con... err persuade.
I personally don't think you'll have the numbers.

Pretty much.

I'm not convinced it's the right direction, but having been around through the 80's and 90's, I know that kneejerk reactions and changes don't work, so I'm content to give the alternative a shot.

Making the coaching staff/board think they have to fix everything ina year or two, or they'll be out on their ass leads to short term thinking. That leads to quick fixes, and while they might get us up around the middle of the ladder, occasional finals and being 'competitive', it'll never see us hitting the top.

You might as well just take Frawley back while you're at it so he can 'top up' the list.
