I'm not a fan of the 'leaked' logo either so decided to have a crack at an update of our traditional logo.
It's very much a work in progress & I'm undecided on the best composition (ie. shield, freestanding etc.)
but in light of the current discussion I thought I would throw it out and try to get some feed back.View attachment 5768 Like I said, it needs a lot of tidying up but I would appreciate any suggestions on the configuration, colour, line weights, anything really. Cheers.

I prefer the stance of this bulldog, and the position of the name behind it. Font, shading, vector obviously needs some work (as you pointed out it's still in progress).

Would sit better on team polos/etc and looks more timeless than the one which has been leaked.

I love it!

Apart from the "scince" P) the text is awesome, much better than the dribble in the one posted in this thread.

The bulldog is cool but in my opinion doesn't look great with faded black + thick blue outline. Maybe lower the line weight and mess around with the stroke colour of the bulldog?

Overall, top work, I really like it.

Yeah get what you're saying about the grey. This was my first version with the dog in blue, but I felt like it lacked a little pop.

The 'Western Bulldogs' font is still horrible but I think it gives you an idea on how something can look traditional and new at the same time. What do you guys reckon?

Absolutely LOVE that Bulldog - much, much better than the cartoony one in the leaked logo.

I kinda would have preferred a shield with 3-4 parts, and a couple of bulldogs beside it or something (we are the Bulldogs, not the Bulldog, so no problem if we have more than 1 - at least it would be original).

I like it more than the past logos though I have to say - which I have put below in my personal order:

Don't mind Robodog but think the middle one ['Bulldogs - Footscray Football Club'] is best

I'm inspired. So I gave it a go too.
Now it isn't as good as the ones posted above but I've got my own brilliant ideas.

1. Obviously we needed a symbol of the west, so I placed the West Gate Bridge up top to represent the western suburbs of Melbourne.
2. The title Western Bulldogz in red so it stands out. Ended Bulldogz with a Z so it sounds more badass. This will intimidate our competition knowing we're not fairies.
3. I had an aggressive bulldog drawn. To emphasise this I gave it big fangs for the bulldog bite and bulls horns so it's more dangerous.
4. It's clear the competition likes flying animals so I gave the bulldogs some wings to compete with the other bird species too.
5. The bulldog is equipped with 9 tails. This will give our club more good luck. Worked for the Cats with their 9 lives.
6. Written EST. 1883 with money signs. This will strengthen our club as we badly need the dosh.
7. Changed our motto from the outdated "Cedes Nullis" to a more modern "Don't Stop Believing". This will appeal to the tweens who love things such as Glee.
8. Had the outline of the west coast of Australia drawn for the supporters who think we're an West Australian team.

This is a shockingly good design, absolutely love that bulldog. The Swiss-style shield isn't really my cup of tea and as you say the font could probably be a bit better but jeez, I reckon that's probably the best logo design for the Dogs I've seen in a while. Seriously good job, well done!

Hmm Bolte Bridge didn't come through to me. Anyway, how I drew the West Gate, you can make out 2 upside down W's from it. And if we work out a double negative they become a positive - W. See it all works out.......

Wow. That is bad ass. Nicely thought out WB. One suggestion - can you make it breathe fire?
No one will want to f*** with a fire breating, flying, horned, 9 tail, vampire fanged bulldog.

That is a great bulldog. It is definitely the best I've come across.
There aren't really a lot of great bulldog logo's out there - most are too cartoony. Must be because they are just so damn ugly.
I actually get the feeling that the club might have given this logo to the design agency to 'replicate'. The stanse on the leaked logo is so similar. Think they have missed the mark with what they have come up with though. Looks more like a bulldogs kids club logo or something.
