Goddard is too hotheaded and is often sucked into doing stupid things. I love the example he sets but he can't lead us in that way. It will be disastrous.

Captaincy might tone that down.

That or popping out a sprog or two.

Goddard has become a lot more disciplined the last year or so, he doesn't spit the dummy nearly as much as he used to and most of the time his anger is directed at the umpires which I don't blame him for at times.

I think the captaincy would do him good and help him develop into a better and more complete player. As good as Riewoldt has been as captain I don't think he has any more to gain from continuing with it, seems more of a negative than a positive for him at the moment.
